The journey into the abyss of no return

I'm out of time to get fancy, got a foot of snow coming between Thursday evening and Saturday.

My excavator can bust right on through it easily. I have tricks for it, but some aren't worth the treat.

The journey into the abyss of no return

Learned my lesson a couple of years back when my 5 ton truck went off a ridge. Nope, not buying chains to put on, not risking sliding off the deck of the trailer, not putting extra strain on parts cause oil/hydraulic oil has become molasses. Told him to get a RV cassette toilet and suck it up...

Animals are going, or at least the horses are. He had a moment of realization it's going only one direction. He thinks I am going to do the septic this winter cause he looks outside and sees no snow hardly since he is in lower elevation than me. We are about 200' higher, we got a lot of trees...

    Coffee anyone ?

Up to 70 mph winds today maybe higher with some rain. Temperatures are around 50°F and then will take a leap off a cliff by this weekend. Got half a roof up, surely not going to fight the wind for the other half of the roof, will wait till next week to start again, though I could see the...

The square metal tubing used wasn't my first choice for strength, the roller machine I have wasn't able to roll the original tubing I wanted to use of rectangle. Though now I can analyze the damage and shows me the capacity of that steel. Failure point also points to two of the blocks pushed...

Root cellar collapsed, weight of water from snow melt coming down the ridge pooling up on it under the dirt with nowhere to go pushed the front top forward collapsing the roof.

The journey into the abyss of no return

High winds today around and tomorrow around 60 mph and I'm on a roof out on the prairie with not a tree to slow it down. Was high winds yesterday too, made fun trying to get underlayment down. Strong enough winds to push the roll around. Pigs go to the slaughter today, all in the trailer need to...

    Coffee anyone ?

It's snowing again... I think I just need to copy that to paste it each time I respond on here like a rubber stamp then hand write in the temperatures. Snow today, will be back Tuesday and not stop till Friday.

    Coffee anyone ?

It was funny watching him run around manicuring the place around the house before all this snow came in. Now it's just one giant ice rink and mud pit that he is still trying to control. Some melted today he thought he would trench it, he ended up causing it to drain under the house cause it self...

Funny you mention that, chipping the ice from the ground today everywhere I needed my ladder on the house. Take claw part of the hammer and chip the inch thick or more since someone thought it was a brilliant fking idea to pack the snow down with their truck. Giant ice rink now:barnie

I have nine left; a boar, two pregnant sows and the rest barrows. Almost looks like I need to send all the barrows, they are so close on a couple of them of being too small. Though one of the sows doesn't look too great, looks like she needs to be sausage.

Technically I was going to say I need to call to the FD and tell them there is a cat stuck on the roof. Not cause it's an actual cat, but because everyone knows the word everyone is synonymous with cat that I was refraining from saying on here as that's what is really stuck on the roof :gig...
