Wow... snow already??? Even we haven't had any here... some to the west in West Virginia and a little bit in southwest Va... but it seems that the moisture gets squeezed out before we get any here lately.

You have got to be a saint.... it will be under roof and they will not realize just what it took to do it... or appreciate it either... Totally agree with @Ridgetop ... make it a loan, don't have to put in a specific repayment date if you don't want to.... make it a few years down the road...

Happy Thanksgiving to all.... Had a night of high winds, said they were over 45 mph gusts... it beat around the house all night. There is a breeze out there this morning, but it's NOTHING like the battering last night. BUT... the temps dropped... from a high in the low 70's yesterday, and...

Hey stranger.....yep, the cold drop is coming here in the next 24-48 hours...

I meant for the light to go off at about 8 a.m. ....Just 4 hours of good light in the morning, then they will get about 6-8 more hours of natural daylight... "go to bed" naturally at dusk.

Still cannot believe that the pullet just popped out there at the carport... I have not seen her , not a glimpse, NOTHING, for the last 2 days... and then there she is... We have had some sprinkles... just that , barely wet enough to feel damp.... and not enough to do more than get the bottom...

If you are going to do lights; use a cheap timer... have them come on early in them morning. like 4 a.m. and go off at 8 or so... This way, the chickens get up early, and go to roost naturally in the evenings. 12 hours is the average for good production... You do not want the lights to...

I'm at the farm to test but they aren't ready yet..... You will never guess the surprise I got. I was putting the extra meters in the storage bin in the carport earlier... And all of a sudden as I turned around I heard a noise .. and out pops the NH pullet I haven't seen in 3 days.... She was in...
