I only live 1 1/2 hours from my sister. I bought this place 3 years ago on July 7, 2022. I was so proud of my farm, invited her to come see me. Again and again, she has never come. I quit saying anything about coming to see me. I go see her. Some day I’m liable to break in half on her and tell her that my dirt road isn’t good enough for her. I live in a double wide and that isn’t good enough for her. And while we’re on the subject, I’m not good enough for her either. And I don’t give a damn if she ever darkens my doorway.
That’s just the facts.
I'd come visit you.

Family sucks. Apparently so do friends. One gal has begged me, come down this summer, teach her how to can and make sourdough, she’s got room for me to stay and plenty room for Boone.
Now she’s tied up with this and that and just got a pomeranian named Ruby so ….

I’m not going to add several hours of fuel on going out of my way after driving 15 f-ing hours down from Oregon at your request then suddenly need to find accommodation so I can teach you what you wanted me to 🤬

Maybe I’ll just leave myself right here and skip the drive altogether

Every six months or so, hubs drives from Vancouver WA to Sacramento. Stays a few days to visit friend. Then drives to Santa Rosa and visits another friend. Then drives to Crescent ****ty and stays a few days with a friend. Have any of them been to our last three homes since 2017? NOPE. Eff them.

I have no family beyond DD, DGD, DS....all others deceased and an only child. 2nd marriage there's 3 step kids & at least 8 grands. After first year of passing, the estate settled (they got it all, millions) and we don't communicate. Not because of $$ but, I will always be "why" their parents separated. So they feel. Not true but, never can be explained kindly.:idunno

Therefore, limited visitations anywhere and that's fine. I'm pretty grounded, understand their feelings. It's fine. I'm quite ok with my life. Not to say a lottery win would be turned down 😂 but happy.

You build a life and live it! I do as I please. :old

I'm lucky - kinda sorta - my brother is in CO and he and my SIL have been here several times. I think I've been to their place a few times (kinda difficult to travel with dogs and now sheep). Though our parents pit us against each other - one of us always had to be the black sheep (giving black sheep a bad rap). When we figured it out we made a pact to not let them do that to us. So many years had been lost between us. Can't make up for lost time - but knowing things has made life good between us, like back when we were kids.
