Cousin It here is due for a haircut. It has rained every couple of days for a week. He’s gotten wet but I don’t know what disqualifies him from a shearing. I’ve had hair sheep for years so fleece was never a problem. I’ll contact the shearer tomorrow but can anyone give me some idea how wet is too wet?

The shearer can still shear if he's wet, but ideally put him up in a barn for 24hrs to dry out a bit. I think the clippers are more likely to get stuck, things won't run as smoothly, and the shearers sometimes get rashes. There's other reasons but I don't recall! Good luck with him, I bet he's a whole different sheep once he gets that fleece off.
