This is “Box of chocolates- you don’t know what you’re going to get” time. If the horn genes don’t work out it’s freezer camp, Racka are supposed to be a multipurpose breed. The fleece is intimidating and my knowledge of genetics is not the best. Observation this evening indicates that Mr. Tall, Dark (and fleecy) is drawing some interest from the ewes. Cue the Barry White. In the case of a couple of my ewes it’s Betty White.

I think so too. But Racka ewes lamb only every couple of years. Ouch.

??? The thread for color genetics in hair sheep? Oh lawdy I don’t want to toss fleece in there. Doesn’t mean I won’t ask, just means I understand some of the complexities.

Sounds like a very primitive breed. They must not wean their lambs early like other breeds do.
