I adopted a Nigerian doe 2/5/25. I had her ultrasound on 2/14/25. We saw at least 3 kids and the vet guessed 90 days on 2/14 so mid April delivery. I know it’s a guess but in the last 5+weeks I have fed her as a pregnant doe and she has popped! Attaching a photo from overhead camera. Just wondering what you all think. I was told that she has kidded about 2 years ago and she is supposed to be about 4 years old.

What size buck was she bred to?
I have no idea apparently there were several turned out with the herd. When I arrived at the farm it was icy and about 20 degrees and he had the girls I was adopting in an aisle. We loaded them up in my jeep and I headed home. That was 2/7 it was on 2/14 the ultrasound showed at least 3 kids. The vet guessed 90 days at that point. I was told that they were open.

Or ..whenever she decides  Vets are pretty good at guessing based on fetal development. Month of April -- but with trips, maybe the short side of 150 days, rather than long side of 158.

We'll be waiting for pictures! ☺️ just wait on her, don't fret.

3/31 update…she started bagging up about two days ago…I can now pinch my fingers together at the base of her tail. I have moved her into one of the kidding stalls with straw bedding at night with the second goat I adopted from the same farm. I have the overhead camera and will keep watch. I’m thinking next week. Hopefully pictures will be my next post. I have a doe due May 7. I bred her so I have an idea of what to expect. But these kids are like a Christmas morning surprise. I can’t wait. 🤞I just hope all goes well.

Finally! Lucy had two large bucklings on Easter Sunday. The first boy is the very colorful one. He came out head and shoulders first legs folded back so we are working through contracted tendons. The second boy was bigger and was delivered with no problems. Both are beautifully marked. And Lucy is an amazing mother.
