  • Thanks for the info on the ducks, and I'll try to get on here more as I get into the swing of things again!!
Been looking at Rouens, a good all purpose duck, so they say, plus they dont really fly too far either. I'd like to keep them in a large shelter/pen enclosure, but we'll see what happens. I'm a landscaper and a cook, so right now, between the 2 jobs, I haven't had time to sneeze hardly. I just got done laying 120 yrds of mulch for one lady, plus 3 tons of 4-5" rocks today, and I'm whooped!!
Hey buddy!! I know you have ducks at your place and was wondering how many hens you need for 1 drake? We're still in the process of finding a place, but I am considering adding a few ducks in the clan, and was hoping you could be of help. I didn't want to highjack your thread over a hypothetical question. Hope all is well!!

Not a problem at all....been wonderin' bout ya, anyways....I forget the suggested numbers, but I think the ideal is between 1-6 hens/drake. Have ya settled on a breed, yet?....not all ducks are created equal, and can be very different between the breeds. It just depends on the reason for them and choosing the right breed for the job.

I noticed you talked about Oklahoma and pow wows. I've been interested in taking my youngest son to some native cultural events (he is Creek) but I can't find much on it. I never hear about anything until it's over. What can you suggest?

It is difficult to get info, because most are not advertised. There is a PowWow each yr in Tahlequah, Ok which is close to Muskogee, Ok on Labor Day wknd. This is an annual celebration for the Cherokee.
