Well, no more snot/runny nose and he actually ate his grain last night and seems perky and happy. So I'm wondering if he just had a bit of a cold and was run down from the heat and the craziness from the show. Regardless I will be keeping a close eye on him .
It can happen over night??? He hasn't sneezed yet today....ugh this topic grosses me out. He never had problems before we left, nor did he the night we got home :(
Ever since we got back from the show, our ram lamb has had a runny nose, and is not eating much of his grain. Not sure whats wrong, he seems fine other then that. Anything I should watch out for? does he need extra minerals or vitamins? a drench? Usually he is a grain hog, which is why I'm...
Got back from the show on Sunday. Oh my gosh it was insanely hot. The sheep and kid handled it well considering it was so hot. I don't think I have ever sweat so much in my life o_O
Everyone did great. Considering the level of competition, and my ram lamb had never been in a show ring, and his...
It's a ewe lamb that was trying to nurse. She does let her, she is a very sweet kind ewe that has taken to mothering this younger one. Our ram is kept separate behind multiple electric and steel fencing. She is NOT pregnant. The vet was out, the first thing she did was try to get milk out...
Hope everyone is having a great summer!
Maybe its just me , but keeping the garden looking good this year has been very hard. The grass...yes grass not weeds is out of control! it looks like i never had a garden there to begin with. I think we are going to try the fabric that keeps weeds out...
Its not the feed. I just had the vet out. Im thinking our new ewe lamb was nursing on her :barnie
we are going to cut her grain down, and try to dry her up.
**Update** The vet was out to give some vaccines, I asked her about the udder. Discovered that there is indeed milk in that one side. We think it might have been our new Ewe lamb trying to nurse off of her.
I have never seen it happen but that doesn't mean that she doesn't sneak it . Now I just...
She has done ok, we didn't show her as a lamb. We got her later in the year. She did ok, she placed top 5 but it was her first time, and my sons first time. She has more this summer. I agree, I think they should be able to show longer.
I love our ram, we are showing him as well.
He is 5 months...
She is purebred 100% Katahdin, she actually comes from some pretty good show lines, which is why we bought her.
This is her last year showing, and she was under weight before, which is why I started her on The show lamb 18% feed. It came highly recommended which is why I decided to try it.
We...
