Thanks so much! I just feel like she is not as "solid" as some of the other ewes I have seen of her age...but I think that just stems from her needing more work on muscle building. We have started a lot of hill work with her. She is my sons Show sheep so we are trying to help her get in the best...
Thanks,
Yeah she is a pretty tall and slender Ewe naturally I think. Im not sure what her Dam looked like, I know her sire was a pretty big boy.
Maybe she is just a late bloomer? lol
I have a yearling ewe that I am trying to get more weight on, I find her a bit on the "thin" side. What is your favorite way to get lots of weight and muscle on your sheep. We walk them up and down a steep hill to help build muscle, they have unlimited pasture full of clover and alfalfa/Timothy...
Yeah I cant wait to see how he matures. He is only 5 months old now and I think he is already starting to look pretty good. Hopefully all the judges out there think the same way as I do :fl
She has never had lambs, she is a yearling that will be bred this August if all goes well. It's been like this for maybe a month. Would her coming in to heat do this?
Our kids little show ewe lamb Tikka. We just love her!!! The boys are so excited for the shows this summer. Get ready for some picture spam this summer lol
I will try and get a picture, I was concerned mainly because it's quite obvious(in my opinion) and she has a couple big shows this summer, will she be marked down because of that ? It doesn't bother her so if I wasn't showing her I wouldn't really care much.
I was looking at my Yearling ewe the other day, and it looks like one part of her udder is normal size, the other side is a bit enlarged. She is not pregnant. Though in my research online I have seen some people say that clover can cause the udder to enlarge, something about a hormone or...
Thanks!, Im hoping he stays calm. His Sire from what Im told was a pretty good boy. So hopefully he will be as well. Me and my husband work with him every day, teaching him how to stand, be brushed, washed and we walk him up hills and over obstacles to help build his muscles and keep him in...
Hope everyone is well.
We are doing good here, just attempting to survive the black flies. The are horrible :( and are driving the sheep crazy! fly spray doesn't seem to be working very well for them, or us humans lol.
Gardens are almost all planted, cant wait for some fresh tomatoes. We...
