    Michigan winter and Pygmy goats

I raised pygmy goats for several decades. I'm south of Houston so we hve nothing like your Michigan winter. An adult healthy pygmy is a pretty tough critter. Are your goats adults or babies? One thing you can do for your wood floored shed is to put down some thick rubber stall mats. They...

    Iron issues?

Iron is generally prescribed for the anemia caused by the worms - not as a deworming medication for the worms themselves. I can't see the iron being detrimental unless the animal has an allergic reaction to it and goes down immediately after the injection.

    2 Bad-Mannered Sisters

Get a spray bottle and put water in it. When they are obnoxious and trying to jump on you - spray 'em in the face with the water. They hate it and they should learn to respect it pretty quickly. Have fun!

    Can you register with scurs?

We registered and showed goats with scurs. That was with the National Pygmy Goat Association - I don't know about other registries. I'd get on the registry website and see if there's any mention - or just call 'em and ask.

    Copper Deficiency: Fishtail?

I feed a pelleted feed that has 50ppm copper. I use Purina goat minerals and New Country Organics minerals also. I have well water that is high in iron which is a copper antagonist. I copper bolus several time a year. I have a couple of goats that are my barometers. When their coats fade -...

    Coffee anyone ?

You've been working hard! I have discovered that when I wear out quickly or don't bounce back like normal that I may be a bit dehydrated. It's amazing how ingesting some extra fluids and/or an electrolyte drink helps me get back to normal. Hang in there - you've made great strides lately!
