Coffee is ready. Happy Monday morning! I have slept great the past 2 nights. This morning I’ll finish up on processing the hog. I just gotta grind up about 12 pounds and I’ll be done.
I’ve lived in houses that had wonky wiring. One house, I could only run one small appliance at a time. Unplug the coffee maker to use the toaster. What fun! LOL
Pick the babies up and check their tummies. If round and full, they are getting enough to eat. Stick your finger in their mouth. If warm, mom is feeding them and they are fine.
If tummies are hollow, they aren’t getting enough to eat. If mouths are cold, you have a very short time to warm them...
The people I got Buford from had 2 daughters. Both were very active in 4-H, then FFA and lots of school activities. There was always a steady stream of kids, growing to teenagers, and parents coming and going. They just couldn’t have aggressive dogs. Both of his parents were chosen for friendly...
I’m so glad to read this, and most importantly, his improvement. Like you, I have learned so much from the good people here on BYH. I don’t know what I would have done without these people who share their knowledge and experience. I’ve had my sheep for 9 years and have learned so much. Reading...
You can’t fix this. Only a vet can reset it and provide the antibiotics for infection. When a break has punctured the skin, it lets in all kinds of bacteria that can fester and cause infection.
If you can’t afford a vet your other option is put him down. The vet can put him down and dispose of...
Give them some time. It takes a lot out of a layer to molt and grow in new feathers. That’s a lot of protein in those feathers, and now winter and shorter days are coming on. They laid all through winter last year because they had just started laying. This year they have molted and you may have...
I enjoy my coffee time. Years of jumping out of bed, getting dressed, feeding kids, packing lunches, out the door to day care or school, then work. Mornings are now my luxury, savoring my coffee, visiting my friends on BYH and watching dawn breaking.
I love history and learning about different countries. No matter where you are or where you are from, on this forum we are the same. We just want our animals to have the best care and life we can give them.
Listen to Teresa! Mr Superman/Bonehead! She is trying to take care of you! You just had surgery, now therapy and you have to give it time to heal. You might feel great, but you could damage what has just been done.
Ozel did great, not rushing out the gate! That one of those WOW!!! moments! What a good girl. How awesome that Angel is teaching Ozel that her place is with the sheep. Hahaha, low rank in the pack, Ozel gets night shift.
Coffee is ready. I processed meat from the feral boar all day yesterday. I still have to do the trimmings into ground meat, I’ll do that after church. There won’t be a lot of ground meat from this, I made practically everything into cuts.
You are on top of this, you got this. I didn’t know that there were such good accommodations for diabetic children at school. Nevertheless you will worry about him. That’s what moms do.
What a lousy gift from the hospital. I hope both of you are better soon. Big hugs.
