oh, and a neighbor who is a contractor offered to help me with our structures (for $, of course). When income is larger than expenses again we'll probably take him up on it.

DH did something totally out of character and made an acquaintance with a guy at home Depot trying to become his own contractor instead of an underpaid skilled laborer working for a guy and he hired him for what the man asked for to do our basement and in 3 days he arrived early, worked nonstop...

Maybe not, but I'd imagine it would be really pretty and so, so satisfying to see each morning. (And you could have sheep graze around those trees when old enough, right? Infact, it might be critical, plus it would be even more satisfying 😉)

    Exposed bone injury

I can't be sure what I'd do in your case without a pic and I'm not a sheep person but personally I'd keep it covered and moist with antibiotic ointment. Keep the flies off it and out of the wound. Maybe it will granulate in. Consider keeping her on some kind of injectable antibiotic if you have...

:thI've known "breeders" like that. Some make it, some don't. It's all marketing and name dropping and acting like you're all that, hiding issues so you can sell your fake dreams to them. I don't think I could do that. It feels so slimy. Someday I'd like to be able to sell goat kids easily and...

What Amount of Feed should I Feed my Nigerian Dwarves?

Don't free feed grain unless you're trying to grain finish them for eating very soon. Too much grain sours their stomach, founders them, and/or makes them fat. They need free choice soft hay, as much as they can eat, preferably second cutting or later. Maybe a handful of grain each. Maybe...

Oregon, so expensive transport is to be expected. I went ahead and booked him a trip for January and put down a deposit. It will not create a hardship for us, but I will probably be selling most if not all the doelings for a year or two to make myself feel better anyway-and like I said, we're at...

I have the opportunity to buy a 2 year old buck of Pete's breeding with perfect conformation that would compliment his genetics in his daughters nicely out of an AI breeding by Little Orchard BR Pure Thrill out of Lucky*Star's RJ Minty (proven dam, proven sire several times over). He'd be...

Puppy finished her shots yesterday with a rabies shot at TSC-a perfect angel for nose rubs for the 1.5 hour wait to the front of the line (price we pay for $44 legally documented vaccine). No pics, but she got named Polly for the record. 66 lbs at about 6 months. Nice and growthy if she was a goat.

    Boone-My Anatolian Unicorn

Sounds like having his herd all split up and all over the place is too much for even a Boonicorn.

I'd better start shipping and growing out some goats. The lamb was $8/lbs but beef around here tends to be $10/lbs and up. We eat a lot of stew lately.

Yes. We've shipped wethers to the processor and I am excited to do it again. I had a doe get bi lateral mastitis that wouldn't go away while she was in milk that I got to survive dry off and I left her open and I'm booking her for their next available spot, as sad as that is. This buck is...

I discovered yesterday that at grocery store Giant, the price of lamb is lower than even the cheapest current price of beef. I guess we're switching to lamb until the beef market turns right side up again or until the lamb price per pound goes up. It's more tender anyway. Feels really backwards...

    Coffee anyone ?

I'm just outside of DC. Dh works in Arlington and rides the metro. I've ridden it a few times now and it seems pretty safe and we find it the best way to get around in town (crazy city drivers). I like driving PAST DC and I've got a group of parks on the water with beaches I like to sit quietly...

All the big tech companies are doing this kind of thing right now so there aren't many jobs floating around. They definitely did not coordinate. That would be illegal. End result will be a big mess and a union situation if they keep pushing it and nobody really wants that. Does not help us...

Yes, they moved the requirement with three badge in/out per week when we moved to Nashville. They're doing it again and upping what they require and I suspect they will start tracking hours to eliminate "coffee badgers" that they are already complaining about (people who badge in, grab a coffee...
