Well by you being open in saying you want to pray again before you rest, it made me realize that I needed to do that myself! I spend a lot of time daily in devotion, but waking up and going to sleep in praise keeps us focused on God. I've noticed that when I pray before bed, I sleep much easier.
@Beekissed - I love to hear that you feel the same, and believe in truly praying over someone. And yes, sometimes the words are hard to find (especially when those you pray for are close to you). Sometimes you have to just cry for them and carry that sorrow to God- I think He knows what is in...
@promiseacres - What is your husband's name? I would love to say a prayer for your family! I will look for some things too- verses and devotionals. I like to use names to be specific in my prayer.
@Poka_Doodle - I am familiar with that name- I've read about them recently and saw something on tv...

I would also like this to be a positive place, not just to come and seek prayer help but to share praises if you like. Has something good happened in your life that you are blessed by? Share God's loving work in your life!

@Poka_Doodle - Praise God for your cousin being safe! I know that must have been so frightening for you all, but I am so glad that everyone is well. I haven't read over all your journal just yet, but expect to find me here and keeping updated with all your happenings!
:hugsAgain, so glad your...
Finally got Article #4 on Mother Earth News posted- I figured I would finally write a little about the sawmill experience (while also putting up a list of some of our current savings).

Yes, there needed to be that much popcorn! I can't wait to see pictures and hear about how these pups are doing. I just love puppy threads here! Best wishes and prayers for all of them to be healthy and strong! Good luck Olive! :fl
Part of our goal is to be more self-sufficient by using material already around us. To make a long story short, we've recently ended up with scrap parts from a field dressed deer (not one we've killed, as we are waiting to make a plot next year). I've already harvested sinew from the back parts...
@Baymule - Yes, I haven't really shared that outside of a few family members and my husband. But I feel it is an important part of my testimony, because it was something that haunted me until I understood the significance and the blessing that was hidden in that sad time. To this day I still...
@Baymule - WOW! That's all coming together so nicely! I bet you are very excited to have your porch done and the barn in the works. You know pictures are always a continual must, haha

This morning, I wanted to share something I have written personally (not for the Mother Earth News blog). These are my personal thoughts that I hope will benefit someone down the road.

Praying for you all and for your dear horse- I've never experienced anything like this but I am agreeing with keeping them warm. I hate that you don't have any farm vets that will visit. Please keep us updated and I'm wishing you all well- stay warm in the process!
:fl
@mominoz
Some good responses here- I am agreeing with what has been said so far.
And WELCOME TO BYH! Warm greetings from Alabama.I see you are a newcomer here. There are so many good folks here that are always willing to help. Don't forget to check out the other 3 "sister sites" as well-...
Yes, I agree that you have been blessed with your kits!
(God has a sense of humor and we've had nothing for half a year now, hah, but hopefully the first week of February...) :fl
There is a very big tradition here on BYH....PICTURES! You have to post lots of cute photos as they grow. And I...
@MMWB - I love those photos! It's nice to see someone who has successful pack goats. We are finally getting ready to build our pen and bring some goats home!
@Ferguson K - I cannot put into words how sorry I am for what has happened to your beloved dog. I hope that they find something soon and that this cruel person gets what's coming to them. We send hugs and best wishes for you...
