We just brought our new female rabbit home and she is adjusting much better than expected. She is very gentle, eating, and curious about her next door neighbor (hopefully her future boyfriend). There are many of you who are very knowledgeable about bunnies here, so I wanted to ask and see about...
I would really love to see information on this, because as we grow in the coming years, I would love to get goats and have a LGD with them, so this would interest me. I want to learn as much as possible before we come to the point of raising our own.
@Becca'sBunnyBarn - Oh my goodness the baby bunnies are just making my day! Hopefully we will have little ones in the near future. We are getting another female.
Merry Christmas (eve) again everyone. You all have been so helpful here on BYH and I deeply appreciate it! I haven't seen an ill-mannered word anywhere on this site, and everyone is genuinely caring. THANK YOU! Again, have a blessed holiday.
:hugs
@Mini Horses - let me tell you something...that video just made me bust out laughing! I started playing it really loud and my mother in law gave me this stink eye and said, "WHAT is that?!" I explained it was goats singing and she just shook her head. My husband did the same. And I....I laughed...
:thumbsup To @Goat Whisperer 's post. YES! We're in a world that is definitely too worried about being politically correct, so it's great to see everyone here saying MERRY CHRISTMAS! There should be love buttons for all the posts.
We send best wishes to you all for a very merry Christmas, and a...
@L J - I cannot believe you have snow like that right now, whoa! Mainly I say this because I live in Alabama, where we currently have a large thunderstorm and we only get snow in my area every few years for only a day or two. :(
What a great photo, though!
I would believe that Terramycin is safe for rabbits. It is a small and large animal product. I am not a veterinarian so I would suggest trying to contact one if you are hesitant to use this. But I have used it on dogs and cats.
"PRECAUTIONS: Allergic reactions may occasionally occur. Treatment...
My second article/blog on Mother Earth News was just published, and I FINALLY found the link to it- phew!
This was interesting to write, because it covers 5 different squirrel calls you can make fairly simply with items found around your home. I made a short example video to go along with it...
Hello there, and welcome to the herd @nmadore1! We're so glad to have you here, and there are tons of good folks here that would love to share their knowledge of herd animals with you. We have a really good crowd of goat and rabbit folks here- when I first started, I was asking a good deal of...
Hello there @JASTECH and welcome to the herd! It sounds like you've got your hands full, so we are wishing you the best of luck. We hope to have you around often once you get settled, and feel free to ask questions here about your herd animals once you do start back up. Also check out the sister...
Oh my goodness aren't those pups so cute?! As for your husband not wanting to keep any....he might change his mind once he catches wind of puppy breath.
:plbb
In all seriousness though, they're some great looking pups and I am glad they're all doing well!
Hey there and welcome from a very cold Alabama this evening! I'm so glad you found Backyard Herds through a search- the people here are all very knowledgeable (and the friendliest group of folks you could meet). If you have any questions, especially about LGDs then post them here for sure on...
I am excited to update today and say that I am about to get a new bunny over the Christmas holidays. I have been telling my best friend that I would gladly trade her a female rabbit for a few eggs and some squirrel meat. I messaged her today and mentioned it again, and she replied, "If you could...
I agree with everyone else here in regards to a necropsy. When an animal passes away very suddenly like this, a necropsy usually is a good to try and help you get an idea of what might have caused it. I send my sympathies to you, and I am so sorry that you lost your dear buck.
:hugs
I scanned this over briefly and I don't think I saw this mentioned but coccidia may be an issue.

I had a rescue hen that had it and she was miserable for awhile. It was diagnosed through a fecal sample by a veterinarian after...
Welcome to the site from Alabama! It's always good to see another fresh face here!
You'll find alot of great information here, and many people who are quick to respond and always willing to help. Don't forget to check out all the sister sites as well, because there is a good deal of information...
