    Well, we've done it!

He's a good dog. We've hit a few bumps and snags (chasing mainly, but also mounting goats) but nothing that work on our part hasn't helped. I need to get some good pictures of him. I will try and get some updated pictures of him this week.

Bleating, uncomfortable doe with bellyache- what to do?

Unfortunately no advice here, other than she isn't pregnant by chance, and in labor right? We have never had any bloat either (knock on wood) but I would like to see others replies.

    GAURDIAN PROBLEMS.......:(

He is great with the girls, he is just the most attached to the youngest. I am going to be working in the fields in the coming weeks doing wood so I will turn him back with them all so I can monitor what he is doing and correct quickly.

    GAURDIAN PROBLEMS.......:(

By "she" is the problem, I meant my daughter. three year olds training dogs is hard work for me!!! I have not seen any smelling of licking but will be quick to intervene. Was separating him a bad idea. all ewes and nannies are bred now so that should hopefully take care of that. Thanks for...

    GAURDIAN PROBLEMS.......:(

This is Winston and my youngest daughter. He is truly her dog! He never lets her out of his sight while at the barn and watches her through the fence when he and the sheep are at the pasture at the house. Maybe she is the "problem" I will get some more photos.

    First Time Kidding, Normal? *pics*

We had a first timer do the same thing. it was an early miscarriage (less than 6 weeks after being bred) she came back into heat approx. 2 months later. she never made a bag though until she was do with the second breeding. my best guess is a kid has been aborted and is being processed out...

Introducing new ewe lambs into the flock

are they in adjoining pens? if so let them get used to each other and then turn them out after a week or so. I assume you have already quarantined them. also no matter how long they are penned near each other there will always be some initial pushing and head butting for pecking order.

Is my doe ready to kid?

That's the "Doe Code"!! Very realistic. The doe's secret code of honor is as old as goats themselves and is ultimately the species best kept secret. No doe shall ever kid before its time. (Its time being determined by the following factors): 1- No kid shall be born until total chaos has been...
