    Pedigree Making??

Excel is AMAZING for pedigree making. Since you are designing the pedigree yourself, you choose what information goes on it and how much information is provided for each rabbit. If you are willing to spend a little money, I've heard nothing but good things about Evens Software. But if you only...

    Dutch kits

First litter of the year! Went pretty well, I'd say. My doe Corrie kindled 6(one stillborn), and they've been growing like weeds! I'm not extremely impressed with the markings(especially considering the markings of the sire), but one of the blacks and maybe one of the steels shows a little promise.

    Wintering rabbits

Rabbits can easily deal with freezing temperatures, as said by @promiseacres and @Pastor Dave. They can tolerate not only below freezing, but subzero, temperatures. It gets well below -15 where i am, and they've been fine for years. Kindling in the winter is a whole different game, though...

Conditioning and keeping weight on lionhead show rabbits

Exactly @Bunnylady. Those new to rabbits will usually pick out rabbits that fit the breed standard exactly in everything but type, and expect to win GC certificate at every show they enter. They breed the rabbits, and keep the never ending cycle of rabbits with bad types going. Way too many...

    intestinal parasite control

@Bossroo the feces than they eat(cecetropes) are necessary to their health. Its disgusting.

    EMERGENCY

Ah, yes. Digging. I've had a rabbit dig almost a complete burrow in less than an hour. Its a real pain. Cute little bunnies!

    EMERGENCY

That's great!!! Do you know how they got out in the first place?

    intestinal parasite control

Rabbits, unlike most other livestock, do not need routine deworming, vaccinations, or vet checkups. The best way to prevent parasites in rabbits is clean housing. Use wire floors, clean nest boxes frequently, clean out from under the hutches frequently, and keep the manure pile a little ways...

    Littermates aggresiveness

Definitely fighting. Fighting should be expected in keeping any group of rabbits in the same space, even bonded rabbits. I have two does that had lived together fine for almost 2 years, until one decided to take a chunk out of the other ones neck. The idea that rabbits are these lovable, social...

    Meat Rabbir Colony Plans

If you want optimal meat production, you are not going to get it in a colony. The rabbits will fight over food, diseases that can be easily cured will wipe out most of your herd, and as @Bossroo said, predators will kill your rabbits. In theory, colonies are good because they give rabbits a more...

    Question on selling rabbits

If you want to sell pet rabbits, advertise your rabbits as pet rabbits. Don't use big rabbit-folk words such as "pedigreed", "registered", "senior buck", "junior doe", "show quality", etc., in your advertisement. That may put off potential customers who just want a pet bunny. Also, no matter how...

    Help...Early Birthing!

https://www.arba.net/PDFs/palpation.pdf Here's an article on palpation. I'm no good at it, either, but its always worth a shot! Its a lot easier in does who have kindled before, because the muscles in the abdomen have relaxed. Good luck on your litter! What breed will the kits be?

    Bunny thhread!!

I've posted on about 5 billion other threads just like this, but I'm gonna post again, because i like showing off my bratty rabbits. Corrie, steel Dutch doe. She's due to kindle in early August. Albrecht, steel Dutch buck( i have an obsession with steels). Bred him with Corrie to get the...

Conditioning and keeping weight on lionhead show rabbits

Do the rabbits just seem unenthusiastic about eating? They may not like their food. Feed some supplements, like oats(along with getting your rabbits more excited about eating, they add some vitality to the coat) or barley. What surprisingly works for keeping weight on rabbits is mangel beets...

    Help...Early Birthing!

Did you palpate the doe? Palpation can prevent anticipating a litter for a month and getting a letdown on day 31.

Training rabbits to poop on wire

I've been trying for 3 years to get my two NZ does to do their business on the wire, and i can tell you right now not to waste your time. It does not work. Rabbits are not like dogs. But there may still be hope, if they decide to move where they go to the bathroom. You can't really do anything...

    Snuffles?

Its awesome that some of them are better!!! Culling the ones still exhibiting the symptoms may be your best course of action.Even if they do recover, they will have much lower vitality due to their runtiness and the illness. Still keep a VERY close eye on the ones with clear discharge. Diseases...
