Hey guys! Been awhile.
So, my dad went hunting at a hutterite (am I spelling that right?) colonylast year, and try gave us some potatoes. We forgot about them, and they ended up growing in a bag in our garage. Nobody wants them and they're not very edible right now. My dad decided to toss them...
We free roam our goats. They know to stay around and don't wander off. Jimmy, the brown one in my profile pic, went into the neighborhood once, but the other in my profile, Snickerdoodle, was still adjusting to not being the only goat and chased him off. If I got a sheep it would stay with the...
I can't figure out how to put the pictures from the trail camera onto my phone. We put them on my mom's craptop, so I might try to put them on BYH from that.
A dang camp robber took everything... Almost. We put out a Twinkie, 5 donuts, an apple pie pastry, 2 sticks of jerky, and an apple...
Are you in Washington? 670 bigfoot sightings there, only 40something in Montana. Still, something
Funny you mention it we put out some Hi Country jerky
I've gone crazy, BYH.
I am now an amateur squatcher. For those of you who don't know what that is, I spend my free time looking for bigfoots.
We are at Georgetown Lake, near Montana's own Lost Creek State Park. We purchased a nice trail camera, attached by bungee cords (hopefully the big man...
Another thing:
I just read the sheep option. I can do the same thing with a sheep. I almost wonder if that might not be better, since we have goats. Do you think that could work better? How would I deal with keeping the sheep away from my goats' minerals (the copper in it is toxic to sheep...
I'm in 4H, but I get attached to my animals very easily. I might feel better if the pig was sent somewhere nice where it could live its life, but in 4H auctions you can't control where they go. That's why I'd be keeping it
Hey guys! Me again.
We have a miniature horse named Bugs, and we don't do much with him. One of our friends has been using him as a lesson horse and wants to buy him. Neither of us know a damn thing about how much a mini horse costs. So what should we sell him for?
We are surrounded by a neighborhood, but where the fence wouldn't block them, there is our long field. The goats don't even cross that unless they want to follow us home.
If I used an e-collar, could I train them to stick around? I'd need a big one, for sure, but I think they have a big enough...
What exactly do rings do?
Also, I just realized that I forgot to ask this, but can I teach a pig to free roam? We do that with our goats and I don't think we have much space for a pen. If it could free roam, it'd go inside at night and could go anywhere to graze, eat, etc.
And would I need 2...
Hey y'all!
So I'm in boy scouts. I saw the animal science badge. One of the requirement options is raise a pig from a baby to market weight.
I'll be keeping it longer. A study showed that pigs can be smarter than humans... Who wouldn't want a pet smarter than them? For me, that's all my...
Good to hear you know the real size requirements for a guinea pig cage! Most people won't follow the 7.5 square foot per pig rule, but you went over. Nice!
Also, I don't know if you have to spay and neuter, like rabbits, but you can litter box train guinea pigs, just in case you get sick of...
JIMMY AND SNICKERDOODLE ARE GETTING MARRIED!
Okay, for those of you who didn't know, I am an animal freak. I don't eat meat anymore and see animals as human equals.
But if goats and humans are equals, and since humans get married when they fall in love...
GOAT WEDDING TIME! After the snow...
They
They mostly clean the aisles in our barn, so meadow grass and alfalfa, definitely. They get some loose goat mineral, and often steal horse grain. Other than that, we don't really know, as they are free range and don't run away. They just eat whatever, and usually manage what they need...
Hey y'all, me again, with something really confusing.
Do goats normally drop their little pellet turds all bunched up in the shape and size of a dog turd?
I you need pictures, I can post, but I'd rather do that as a last resort.
