While we didn’t stay long, we had a great time and I LOVE your family! Which says a lot, cuz I don’t like many people LOL :gig
I’m glad @mystang89 is able to put good use for the chickens.
It IS amazing how BYH has connected to many people! An old member (not on BYH anymore) became good...
We have dealt with it in our dairy goats. Both times it was a rather mild case. I believe the the one doe got it because she was heavy. The other was a young doe with twins, and we were in a horrible rainy spell so the goats were just lounging in the barn all day and not getting the proper...
Yep, when you look at the ingredients for Nutri-drench, the first one is Propylene Glycol-- which is what is used for treatment in pregnancy toxemia. She is in the most common window for toxemia. I hope some other sheep folks come have some ideas. @Mike CHS @Baymule @Sheepshape @misfitmorgan...
I don’t know anything about sheep, but with my dairy goats I’d be checking her for pregnancy toxemia/ketosis. Watch for milk fever too. She doesn’t fit all the symptoms, bit I’d be checking especially since the drench seems to be helping. What’s her temp?
That is so sweet! But trust me, if you were to raise meat chickens, you (& probably Teresa) would be READY for them to be gone once the time hits. We raised 40ish a few years ago, oh the mess they left was horrible! So different than the layers.
We have a few special chickens here- one of which...
Cylence is a really good product for mites/lice. You apply it along the spine and the goats won’t get chilled. I prefer Cylence over premithrins in the winter for this reason. I don’t remember the dose but SBC probably has it in her notes.
LS, yep- I call her Lis for short. Still doesn’t fit in with the other goats!
I also forgot, we had a Red Lamancha doe. Guess what we called her? Red Doe of course. Some of our meat goats would go by their tattoo. C3 was changed to C3PO though :hide
I have to say, I kinda laughed at RJ’s...
:yuckyuck
It's okay LS. I called a goat Disbud for over 8 months until I registered her. I stink at the name thing.
I had to register some of our June kids. I did come up with some names (some have a theme) but I still needed a name for one kid. I named her Lisianthus. People never know how to...
I'm really hoping for does! I can't believe you had all buck kids last year. It's not right!!
Are you going to try and make any of the spring shows? :)
The MUN levels were very helpful for us. A lot of our goats were sky high! Milk testing also confirmed some of our suspicions (fat: protein inversions) We are actually feeding a mare & foal feed now. It's lover protein and higher fat. So far so good :fl
The milk awards are nice too :)
Sorry...
I was scrolling through some pics today and found this. Excuse the mess- I was just unloading feed & cleaning the feed shed. I usually will let this group out to be "freedom" goats as I like to call it :)
This is Holly. She’s standing a little funny (was about to hop/jump/run like kids do) but...
Try to find these nipples also. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/producers-pride-controlled-flow-lamb-nipples-pack-of-3?rfk=1
I have found when kids have been on momma for a couple of days, they take to this over the pritchard.
