Having a vet look at is always the best thing. Eye injuries can be tough to deal with. It could be something simple where she got some debris in her eye all the way to something like a puncture.
Depending on how bad it is she may need antibiotics and banamine.
Is it possible she just isn't letting her milk down for you? Or is her udder full of edema?
Some does freshen with edema and it takes time for it to go down.
Given her past issues I'd be giving CMPK gel (if she were a dairy goats- again I don't do sheep)
With her being in such rough shape I...
Does it look like a luxating patella? Where the leg bends backwards? We’ve had bunches of kids like that- the quads and quints are usually the worth for it, if if there was a nasty jumbled up mess that took work to be born. After a week or so it seems to work itself out. We had a few that were...
Congratulations on the goats! So exciting!
1- Not likey, as they are not in contact with other goats or areas where other goats live/housed.
2-I don’t know :) If they are walking in the grass most wont notice.
3- I use dog collars. Puppy harnesses might be good in the beginning, but don’t...
Pellets really are not good if you are trying to properly deworm your goat.
Much depends on what type of parasites you are dealing. Here, safeguard and Ivermectin are our go-to dewormers. Both are effective in our herd. But, the dosage is different than what is listed on the bottle, and...
I agree! Sounds like calcium issues.
What’s her temp?
It is not too late to at least try. I’ve pulled goats back from the brink of death. Goats that “shouldn’t” have survived. I’ve lost some over the years but saved many. I know it is an uphill battle, but for me, I have to try.
Some area are, but we are drying out. We have seasonal steams that run through some of fields that take time to dry up.
The hurricanes and constant rain have done a lot of damage to land. :( :( :( :(
I don’t have sheep, but I do raise dairy goats. You can certainly have ketosis after kidding/lambing.
If she were a goat I’d start slowly increasing feed and giving the best hay I can find.
Dyne is a good product, a little pricey but worth it.
Aww, congratulations on the kids! What a great way to start kidding season. So glad they are all doing well! You must be so excited! :weee
Wasn’t Nellie the doe with mastitis? How’s her udder looking?
