Coccidiosis in my Meat rabbits need advice

Thank you very much for sharing your doe's issue with coccidiosis. I was wondering if it was this doe. However the second large litter shows signs of sickness. To add to the story: I did have two different does deliver at the same time but they had small litters (1 kit and 3 kits ) and their...

Coccidiosis in my Meat rabbits need advice

Thank you very much! I have found the medication cheaper online which I am very happy! The vet charged me $60.00 just for medication vs same medication (Albon) $14.99 on line. I'm leaning toward treating all rabbits and working on a new plan for keeping my rabbits healthier. Great advice...

Coccidiosis in my Meat rabbits need advice

Here is the whole story.. I had a beautiful litter of New Zealand born July 17th, 2014, from my 7 month old doe. Total litter: 8 and one died. She did great for her first time all seemed good. She seemed healthy and all my other rabbits seemed healthy. Once they were about 6 to 8 weeks old...

Doe's first litter all dead, need advice

Thanks for the advice. I really appreciate the response in this forum. Everyone is so nice and very helpful. I am sorry you lost one too. Doe's first litter all dead, need advice

Thank you! :hugs I knew that there is a chance young does lose their first litters due to being inexperienced but the grumpy stuff I wasn't sure about. I had not experienced a doe being grumpy so I was skeptical and worried. I'm leaning toward re-breeding and hoping the second time around her...

Doe's first litter all dead, need advice

I have a flemish NZ mixed doe that I bred a month ago to a flemish/NZ mixed buck. When breeding the doe seemed upset after the 3rd take. She took another 2 times but became very upset. She was bred in the bucks cage not hers. This was her first breeding and her age was 7 months old. My husband...

    Cold weather for new litter

Thanks Vicky, I made a better set up in the shed yesterday with the help of my husband. They are all doing good inside the shed. The clean up will be at least better than what we had a week ago when she delivered. Our Shed used to be my oldest sons room. It has flooring/ac/and insulated walls...

    Cold weather for new litter

Hi Vickie, I'm a new breeder and my New Zeland White had her first litter Jan 9th. It happened to be the first cold days here in FL. Temps about 32. I was quite worried about her staying out side and moved her into my shed in a carry cage with her box and added a heater. I was lucky and she...
