I use lights in my barn during the winter. It does help, but I've been having this breeding problem with 2 of my 7 does. I'll check the problem girl's vulva. Thanks for all these good tips!

I normally wouldn't be posting about an overdue doe, but she's normally very regular, having them around the same time each litter. She is for sure pregnant, and she usally has large litters, so I can tell when she pregnant or just bluffing. She pulled her fur and put in the nestbox, but hasn't...

So adorable! I live in Texas and raise and breed lionheads, so I know what it's like to try and kep them cool during the summer. I have overhead fans ans box fans. I suggest putting frozen watter bottles behind your box fans so the fans blow cooler air.

Thanks guys. The last kit didn't make it through the night, but I'm still researching in case this happens again. My doe, Ella was a AFL, but she's a large rabbit. There could have been something wrong with the litter which caused her not to feed them, but I'm not sure. She's a very smart rabbit...

So just an update. One more died, but I'm bottle feeding the last kit with KMR. I'm hoping to see improvement by morning.

thanks citylife! my rabbits live in a closed shed with ceiling fans and overhead lighting. i've been leaving the lights on after it gets dark and turn them off before i go to bed. thanks for the advice!

It needs to be plain. Otherwise it might irritate the rabbit's skin.

ok yes she does have a dewlap. she has only had one litter before and none of thise survived because it was her first litter. shes a cute stinker though :)
