An automatic watering system will make your life easier. By far. I do not have one as of yet. I have a very small project started. The man I bought my breeders from has a system set up and it is clearly much more efficient and way less time consumming and aggravating. As my project grows I...
Pulled the nest box out this morning and counted babies. We thought there were 6 or 7, we were right. There are seven plump healthy kits.
Yeah!!! Just starting to get white fuzz on their bodies.
I am very happy with my new trio.

Your grow out cage is great for a litter of 12. I would stick with it. You can build cages but there are also cheaper options if you look around.
Although..... you do not state what breed meat rabbits you have. You will want a cage appropriate to their size.
I have Florida Whites... 4 1/2 -5...
I make sure there is at least a 2" gap between doe and buck cages. And would do 4"'s if I was to do it again. The reason why is they seem to get bored and when in wire cages you have the risk of them chewing on each other through the wire on top of accidental breeding. And the does will chew...
We have 6-7 new kits today. YEAH!!!!!
There may be more but not sure. Momma was very protective and we did not want to stress her out. She grabbed a few mouthfuls of hay and then checked the babies in the nest box. Jumped back out to eat more hay. I was happy to see she relaxed and munched...
I have only had them a couple of weeks. I have not spent to much time with them since my senior doe came to me 14 days pregnant. I have tried to give her as little stress as possible. All the rabbits were very calm with the breeder and very easy to handle. The Junior doe and buck have been...
I picked up my trio a couple weeks ago and have a litter of kits due in 2 days. I am so hoping that we have surviving babies as she came to us pregnant but seems to be a bit stressed out about settling in. This is the senior does first litter, she is 10 mo. old. I also have a junior doe who...
While she is nursing you should give her all the food she wants. Once babies are weined, back down to normal rations for the size bunny she is. I would say she can be bred as long as she is healthy and still producing healthy kits for you.

Totally agree with BunnyLady. I would not risk does or bucks together. A 30"x30" wire cage from Tractor Supply is $30. Well worth the money.
Good luck to you

I got the hanging wire cages from Tractor Supply. They are the 30"x30" cages. Very easy to set up and 30 bucks each. The three rabbits showing in the picture are my new breeder rabbits and then I have a seperate grow out pen for the babies when they are weened. I may add cages to the bottom...
My project is up and rolling and I am so happy! My 3 sided shed is completed and my new trio is happy and doing well. I am extremely happy with the high quality Florida Whites I purchased. They are just want I wanted.
MyJunior Female, she feels like a block of meat with ears. Amazing!

Take a look at this website, it shows you how these people are doing it. Notice though, most of their rabbits are for the pet industry so you would want larger cages. I like the way they have done this.

I really like your cages anthonyjames. nice set up you have there. We have been having a ton of rain so have not been able to finish our shed.
We have everything we need but the plywood. Our rabbits are ready for pick-up when we are. I can't wait. I love the idea of housing the rabbits over...
