I’m gonna give hand milking a go and see how it turns out! Good luck with the Amish farmers! I hope you find some cheap wood.
Does anyone give any minerals/supplements after your ewes give birth?
Were their teats too small to milk by hand? My hands are pretty small. I have milked a friends Nigerian dwarf goat before. I was surprised at the size! Other than that I have not milked any animals before. I am glad you like that recipe! It is one thing to read an article that says it works...
I bought a pint of sheep milk and it was the best milk I have ever had! I could not get goats because I don’t have any fences. The sheep stay in premier 1 electric netting. I have some friends who have escape goats! One of them happens to be my neighbor! I will wake up to find a goat chowing...
Thank you guys so much for replying! Good luck to your ewes as well!
I have some supplies ready. I have all the buckets needed and plan to make an udder was daily out of castlie soap and essential oils. Lots of people use that recipe and have had great success. I am trying to avoid any...
Thanks for the reassurance! I have become really fond of all four members of my little flock! I would be devastated if anything happened to them! I breed bunnies so I am very aware of the problems that can happen during labor. Just rabbits are a whole lot quicker and easier. Little to no help...
I am totally freaking out! I thought I had a lot more time but turns out the time went by faster than I thought it would! I have 2 pregnant ewes who are due sometime next month. Came out a couple days ago to move/separate the ewes and ram when I noticed the udders were bigger. They are not very...
Hello! This is my first time breeding sheep. I put my ram and my ewe together and he immediately started to mount her. He did not stop for the whole day. The next day he acted like she was not there. Is she bred? Should I keep them together longer?
Thanks!
Update: She is still shaking. I have been feeding her KMR and water with sugar and salt. She has access to fresh water at all times and I also have given her hay and a friend. I will be putting her back with mom soon. Pray for me to not wake up to a dead baby bunny!
Sorry they are in a google form. I could not figure out how to change it. I will give permission to anyone. She just PEED on me! Yay! I know it is odd to celebrate being peed on!
My baby bunny got dehydrated from diarrhea and is shaking and falling over. I am dropping water with sugar and salt into it's mouth according to a recipe. Is there anything else I can do? She is 5.5 weeks old.
thanks!
I have heard that once a rabbit is bred they fight with any other female. I am not 100% sure if this is true. I am going to be testing this out also next spring so we can find out together! I am going to try and separate them and then breed and have them raise their babies alone next to each...
Definintly do not sell him if you are happy with him. Do not worry about it being too close. I bred a doe with her dad and the babies are just fine. Inbreeding is 100% normal! Good luck with your rabbit breeding journey!
My bunny nibbled her fur too! It ended up fine though. Good job adding extra stuff! In the pic I can see some nice fat bellies meaning they are well fed. I do see the skinny one. I had one also. He/she looks a little scarier though. I would continue to feed it. make sure the milk is warm not...
