I too have had lockups, thought it was my machine(this often happens).
Funny thing is, when I got site back up the post I was composing was still there in reply window.
Something about 'drafts saved'...not sure really how that works.
Have been thru other forum software changes in the past,
not...
5&6 popped overnight, including the one where I opened a side pip up a bit to make sure chick could breathe.
#7 just hatched and several more pips/zips have appeared.
It's amazing how things can change in just an hour or so...I was not so hopeful at 6am.
Never seen so many side pips(out of about...
So will any new pics we post NOT go into our galleries/albums...be overwritten....etc?
Wonders if number of pics is the issue or the size of pics that folks upload without setting cams to reasonable resolution or reduce file sizes in photo program before posting. Old dial up user here and still...
Yep, know about 'following', just haven't ever used it on any forum.
There's an 'All Watched Threads' which works very similar to 'subscription list' on the old BYC.
But it doesn't work as well...doesn't automatically and constantly update.
I put it on a tab on my fav bar(laptop) to update.
All chicken have spur buds...so no good for determining gender on chicks.
Males don't start really growing out the spurs until at least sexual maturity(4-5 months),
they don't get significantly larger than a pullets until older than that.
Have been kinda of doing updates here: https://www.backyardherds.com/posts/500147/
Can use your username drop down in upper right to check your following list...don't use 'follow' so not sure how it works.
Can't paste image in edit mode?
I'm guessing pullet due to paleness of comb, but it's early yet, couple more weeks should tell the tale.
If comb gets red and red wattles emerge, then you can call it cockerel.
Huh, didn't know bout the copy/paste for images, that's cool.
Probably more to be not happy with after only few days using software...
....I really have not seen anything that is significantly better than the old BYC.
Takes time to adjust to the differences.
#3 is out!
Got a funky pip, in middle of shell.......tempted to assist, just to make sure it can breathe.
Once you start assisting it's hard not to.
Assisted 4 on my last hatch...they all made it.
IKR!?
Figured the others would be earlier like the stuck one, but they are right on time today is Day 21.
Been driving me a bit nuts, thinking the worst...Whew!
EE's can be different crosses, thus their slight differences as chicks.
EE and wellie both are chipmunk but legs color should tell the tale...
...wellie have yellow legs, EE have greenish/slateish
I turned all alerts (and emails) off and just use the 'all watched threads page' bookmarked on my tool bar.
But I'm on a 17" PC laptop.
Never had or used mobile device, sounds like a software nightmare..and those tiny screens SMH. :)
Great Post-haha!
You may need more than a gentle shower(they may like that), but not to the point of waterboarding. Good 'tap' or two with the 'sharp stream/jet' setting on garden nozzle should do the trick.
Good Luck!
Finished assisting that early pip and it looks fine.
It was struggling to get out, in a weird position(wrong end pip) and I was concerned about 'gluing' despite the application of CO.
Sure enough edge membrane at edge of pip was glued to chick.
I 'helped' some more after veins had receded...
