Jodie, Bullitt's the dad and Peyton (black % doe w/ spots) is the mama. She also threw Freeney, the boy a couple years ago that looked like the dapple above.
Foxy just had twin BOYS, solid red just like Bullitt....I *wanted* dappled does, don'tcha know.
These may be our last Bullitt babies...
Honestly it sounds like you've covered the bases I'd think of....checking her feet and trimming, etc.
My only other thought would be toxemia but the feet don't appear swollen and it'd be all of them, not just the back ones.
I'd probably bring in a vet if she doesn't improve. Good luck.
The black and white kid is the 1st daughter of the avatar doe, Valentine. The black boy w/ spots is her son. These are her first kids and we are tickled pink.
Yes, they were all born in the last few weeks.
Got 3 more does in the kidding stall, due any minute.
We've had 10 kids since...
My hubby noticed one of his buns has no hair on the tops of her front feet. Back feet are fine, no hair loss anywhere else.
Skin is red / looks irritated, but not broken.
We've been treating the entire herd (20 or so) for ear mites w/ injected ivermectin, (they've had 3 rounds, 2wks apart, last...
:fl
Good luck and hope you get what you want!
When is Charlie due?
He looks a lot like his big brother Reggie. Reggie just got fixed and shaved and is feeling a bit sad.
:clap
For what it's worth, we give all kids their 1st CDT the day we disbud, then boost in 3 wks.
Giving the antitoxin at any time 'cancels out' their toxoid shot protection (adults, kids, etc.) so keep that in mind if you do ever administer the antitoxin.
You will have to repeat both toxoid...
I don't have a problem w/ powdered milk for goats, I have a problem w/ CHEAP formulas. The 'non species' specific ones especially. A cow is not a goat is not a dog is not a llama and all have different dietary requirements.
If your formula, regardless of brand, contains "soy", it's crap...
I'd about guarantee it's coccidiosis. 15 yrs of baby goat raisin' behind that guess...
Coccidia is in almost all animals naturally- we fight it off / keep it in check. Young and stressed animals haven't built up the immune response needed to do that, so they develop coccidiosis.
DiMethox...
Again, I'm sorry. :hugs
Just a thought....were you giving probiotics to help keep the 'good' bacteria going?
Wondering if the Pen G killed off the 'good' bacteria that help keep the 'bad' bacteria in line...?
