That makes sense... what wd be a good color of does to pair him with? We're considering buying a couple. Right now I just raise californians & new zealands because if they don't sell they go in the freezer but I've had some interest from a local feedstore & even a pet store for pet breeds so...

I appreciate that... velvet & rose are both doing good with their litters, rose is the doe that came into her milk late but she's doing great now. Velvet & Anna were the 1st outa 6 litters to pull fur... I hope the 2 does that lost their litters do better next time they will get another chance...

What breeds would be good in my situation wether it's goats or sheep?

Do you band your goats to castrate them or just cut em? I've castrated countless beef calves & show pigs but I have never messed with a goat before

What is a reasonable price for 2 young billys or wethers?

I like the baby doll south down sheep but goats are much easier to get than sheep where I live

I'm considering getting a couple goats... mostly as lawnmowing pets & I really don't care to breed them so wd it be best to have 2 does, 2 wethers, or a doe & a wether which wd be the best pairing as far as the goats getting along & living the most enjoyable life?

Velvet & her 10 new babies... she's the 1st doe outa the last 5 to kindle that actually pulled fur, she's a pedigreed black new zealand & the buck was my big Californian, she has 5 white & 5 black

Almost all of my does kindle on day 31 or 32 so hang in there you've been given some excellent advice, they've helped me through some stressful situations lately

Well good news.... all the kits were nice & fat, she's feeding them on her own now I'm super happy about it lol

She has milk but she wasn't feeding her kits so I held the doe & my wife held the kits on her while they ate... the kits are 5 days old now & it looks like she's starting to feed them on her own there were only 4 that looked skinny last night when we fed them
