Personality just shines out of that dog! She's gorgeous and you can see the intelligence in her eyes. If that were one of my dogs they'd be eyeballing that feed like Sheba is....and hoping I wouldn't notice. :D =D That first pic needs to be a POW...just hilarious!
Pretty lamb, Bay...
I'm so glad too! Thank you for all your help and support on this, Bay! :hugs :love I'm thanking God for her recovery as well....it was so pitiful to see her walking like that and I couldn't help but feel responsible for it. It's simply lovely to see her running, jumping up on high things...
As of this morning I didn't reapply Pinky's leg wraps. She's been chewing them off anyway and only had just the scrap of one left on one leg this morning. Her legs look straight and she's moving easily and strongly on both legs...even jumping up to guard with Blue on top of the pallet pile...
I loved my runner ducks and they laid daily. Finding where they laid in a free range situation was the hard part, but the hens even went broody a couple of times spring and summer, which they say is not common for the breed any longer.
I've had mallards, Pekin, muscovey, KC and runners but...
We have started work on clearing brush off the proposed fence line in the field next door. It's mostly huge autumn olive and multiflora rose(10-15 ft tall) all tangled together and very densely grown in the first portion of the fence line. It thins out further down the line, so that's a relief...
It's amazing to me that she showed these symptoms in less than a week on the dog food mix mistake and it's been a week on the good food to correct it~no other supplements except a couple of days with buttermilk. She's still growing in leaps and bounds but, having the right balance of nutrition...
Very happy to report that Pinky's legs are straightening right up! She loves the puppy food and she doesn't like the leg wraps so much and will tear them off if she can get a tooth hold on them, but mostly they are staying in place enough to give her good support. She's wearing them on both...
It also just looks like a rooster that is sexually mature...that redness in the legs is usually due to increased hormones. What's the age of this rooster?
It's easier to pluck feathers off the bird while the skin is still on and I've saved feathers for various things. One rooster I'd had a long time and really liked, I kept his hackle feathers as a memory of him...they are incredibly beautiful. I tend to keep something from animals and pets I've...
Much easier, especially with regular chickens, whose feathers are more plentiful and better attached than meat birds. I've been skinning them for years and then had my son design me a setup that helped me do it even faster. My old hands are arthritic now, so pulling hides off of birds when...
I can't really see any swelling in these pics and the redness is usually hormones or exposure to heat or cold, but if he's limping or favoring the foot, then he's got some inflammation going on and it could be dietary....what level of protein are you feeding right now? High protein diets in...
You might also give them some replacement nutrients. Some folks use Red Cell, some Nutridrench. I used homemade chicken stock with a B complex vitamin dissolved in it that worked VERY well, got them back on track in a couple of days.
Me too. She's a great dog thus far and seeing her with that leg knuckled over is just sad. The vet wrap is really supporting the joint, though, as she's much more mobile than she was without it. She loves the food and it even LOOKS good to eat, unlike most dog food.
