Processing question; what you can use the fat for?

That makes sense too! I like it also. People can make their own soup, and while I haven't done it myself I'd seen relatives do it. I think people use borax in there somehow but I don't know the recipe.

Duck question/re: resettling them in wild

Does it work or not work to put domesticated ducks into local lakes to try to bring back up local duck populations? I was wondering this recently? Or would it not work because of them being domesticated? Or would it only work for those with strong instincts? Or would trying this kind of idea...

And can you still get eggs with once a day feedings if the nutrient requirements are met? Or can it lower it?

    Feeding time question?

When there's more dark hours in a day than there is light hours, which way is best on feeding times for poultry? (ducks). So let's say you had darkness for 13 or 14 hours a day. If that's the case is it better to feed ducks, poultry, etc, right on the dot every 12 hours (6:30 Am and at 6:30...

    Rabbits questions...?

So a new question came up, so I'll post it here. I'm a bit confused about pregnancy ages and allowances. People say don't get them pregnant until 5 months old or 6 months old on the does. So what I want to clarify is,...does that matter if its on the front end or the back end? For example...

Duck question re: feeding after dark?

So...when I feed my ducks after dark, I can't tell how receptive they are to it. It seems like they don't eat it if I put it out after dark. Well maybe more like they eat some but leave a lot. So I wanted to ask about this. Does this mean you are shooting yourself in the foot to feed ducks...

    Duck eye health question

So there's something I've been wanting to ask about... Yesterday I went out to see the ducks and work with them. Its colder now and because of fears of freezing pipes the city shuts the outside of the house water off in winter. This makes it harder to move water out to the animals. So I have to...

    Messybun’s Small starts big dreams

Are you near a sizeable population? I'd had friends in California (Bakersfield area) tell me that they had roaming bands of homeless people now because of all the economic damage. And this was before Covid started. Often they wake up and the street will have several cars have the windows broken...

    What's the difference between...?

Hope you don't mind if I ask about a comment you had. If you know about chinchillas, can I ask how tame they are? Can they be handled pretty well compared to other rabbits?

    Messybun’s Small starts big dreams

Wow. Yeah I get allergies too. I get less allergies from my ducks than I do anything else. (Chickens, ducks, rabbits). But ducks are a bit more noisy than chickens (except roosters). But the ducks have a cuteness factor that has made the neighbors love them. (That might help if you are...

    Messybun’s Small starts big dreams

They make the chickens sick? Does that mean all chickens get sick from them? And would ducks also get sick from them? Thank you for your input.

    Sick calf...

The coloring of that cow on the right in the pic, in full white is very interesting. I can't recall seeing very many like that. Around here most of them are dark browns or blacks, or with brown and white spotting together.

Alternative play area ideas, etc. (What do you think?)

So I wondered about this... Wanted to bounce it off others and see what you think about it. Could you use cheap tents (with connected flooring) as temporary short time period play pens for rabbits? A cheap tent can be gained for 20 bucks...but it costs a lot for material to make a real one...
