Thankfully her brother is not so adventurous. She is so funny, it's hard to get mad when she is just doing what goats do. Though I wish she would climb in her spool. It's like she only wants to climb in things she isn't allowed too. Crazy goat.
Yeah, they guy that helped me trim the goats hooves told me about the 4H. My kids are grown but I have grandchildren. Hopefully my daughter will get them in it. My grandson, who is just old enough to join loved my chickens. I would love to see him get involved.
We are still in progress but here are some pics. We used the pic of yours to create ours. So thank you! We need to finish the roof. We are closing the sides a little more and closing off half the front and putting shingles on the roof. I also need to seal the wood. Once we are done I will share...
I heard goats will eat anything but that is not the case with mine. They are picky about what they eat. I was hoping we would not need to weed eat or mow but they aren't really eating much. They don't like our weeds lol
I tried giving mine some strawberries. They were not interested. I found cherrios work well. They only get it when my grandkids come over. Today was the first time the goats got to meet the grandkids and the goats were afraid of them lol. Of course when the cheerios came out they were willing...
My silly goat, Buttercup came up behind me while I was standing on the edge of the porch and put her hooves on my butt cheeks! I was not expecting it and lost my balance and went off the porch. I couldn't stop laughing. I didn't fall or get hurt. She is such a funny goat. 🤣 I just wanted to...
That is amazing! I am hoping we will have stories like that with our grandchildren and goats lol. I am definitely going to get halters and leads and train them. Getting them here was entertaining lol.
Thank Yeah you! I am very excited and already love them both tremendously. She cries at the back door every time I come inside. Makes me a little sad lol. I am thinking about teaching her to walk on a lead so my grandson can use her in 4H if he wants. He is 5. And... in general it would...
Thank you. I appreciate all this info.
I did not know specifically about goat herds. The doeling was bottle fed, but not by me. The wether is her older brother. I got them from the same place. She was bottle fed because her mother died suddenly. He was not bottle fed.
Thank you! Apparently Texas has this thing called Agrilife Extension from Texas A&M. I had no idea this existed! It's a free to use service and someone comes and teaches you whatever you need... for instance. I called to see if they had someone to help me trim the goats hooves the first time...
