Both are doing good, a little sluggish today due to the heat, but definitely better once it cooled down. she really is so itty-bitty, the tiniest baby I’ve ever seen.
No babies yet, udder got downright massive overnight lol (the pic was taken around 6 this morning, it’s even bigger now😳), I’m leaving the house now and won’t be back till about 1, idk if she can hold the baby that long, she’s already very vocal.
I saw her come thru the gate with 200 other sheep and said “she’s the one I’m coming home with, nobody else” she ended up being nicer built than I expected 😁
Well ligaments were gone as of 8pm last night, I believe we have an udder pop, not a dramatic one but still significantly fuller than last night.
Udder pics, last night vs this morning⬇️⬇️⬇️
All right, here’s an updated udder pic her udder is very tight and hot, I may end up needing to milk her out. Her ligaments are very soft, but they’re still there, you can see they’re sunken in from the pictures and her belly is looking different. I can’t tell how, just that she looks bigger...
So the lady wanted both ram lambs, not just one. I ended up letting both go for $300, that plus the $150 left over from last night and an extra $50 from other sales gives me a good budget to possibly get the nice registered Katahdin ram that I’ve been looking at, if not, another ram.
A lady is coming to pick up the extra ram lamb for $175, I paid $90 for him, so whatever. I sold two bucks at the auction last night, one sold for $120, the other sold for $255, I had made more money on them than expected (I expected to bring home about $50 per buck) so I ended up bringing home...
I will say that I do have a person On Call for the entirety of the trip that will be taking, he’s an expert on goats, and has been raising them and helping others with births for years, so my stress level just went down tenfold
