We ended up opting for the 4ft. no climb horse fence. It looked like the strongest and the one that would be safest for any kind of animal much less the goats. We wont have to worry about bigger spaces when little ones are born either....I hope I made the right choice.
edit to add: I hope I...
oh good...and our floor is made from 2x6 pressure treated deck boards under neath and treated and painted t 1-11 on top of that...I think it will last a while I was just worried about the pee. I think I will put some wood chips or pellets down first then straw. I hope it works...it will be...
same problem here...It was VERY dry for a long time, then it got really wet! The farmers I contacted all said it was a terrible year for hay and that they were out. I was worried there for a bit...but the lady I am getting the goats from gave me the # for the person she gets hers from and they...
I bought my hay from the same person they get thiers from, ;) So I am good on that. I am also getting the goat feed from the same feed mill they are useing. I will ask if they are useing loose minerals and what brand. So basiclly I just need the hay, the goat feed, and the loose minerals...
OK my girls will be here next week and I am still confused on what all I am going to need for them. I have asked the people to tell me EXACTLY everything they are getting now, but I want to make sure there is nothing I am missing to have a happy healthy goat...I am getting 2 nigerian dwarf...
I couldnt find hay either....I did finally manage to find someone who has some today....I wanted 2nd or 3rd cut but all they had was first cut...I had to take it because 1st cut is better than NONE...I just hope it will be ok. I dont know ANYTHING about hay! It was $3.00 a bail for square bails
Being that I am new to all this I was just wonderring how you do it. I am not even sure that the 2 girls I am getting have papers or what ever you call it. I know the owners raise and show so they may. I am waiting for a reply. Its not all that important since these first 2 are pets but I...
she is an outside dog too...she just comes in every once in a while for about 10 minutes then wants right back out. She feels way to confined in the house but every great once in a while she will come in the door, say hi to everyone, try to sit on whoever she can then go back out 10 or 15...
You are no to far from me! I'm in NW PA..I dont have a stud goat ...or any goats yet (till next week) but I'll have to remember you are so close when I will be looking to purchase a few more in spring. ;)
Here she is doing 2 of her favorite activities in one! She love to sit on your lap and she also likes to look at birds. One of her favorite passtimes is watching the birds at the bird feeder! LOL
I have a great pyr. and last night some deer wandered into the field behind my house and she went totally nuts! Hair stood straight up on her back and she was barking and jumping up trying to get over the 5 foot split rail fence. I'd say your dogs would PROBABLY do the same. ;)
I just checked on ebay..you can get the same program there for like 3 bucks! LOL Here is a link:
