You are braver than I am. I don't think I would even consider a relationship with someone that I had to go counseling with before marriage. (or living together). Love is supposed to be blind for a long long time. But that is just me. I have also been to marriage counseling with a few different...
That is what the moderator of the group says to do as far as corrections...make the first one one to remember. I remember reading about Paris when she was new to you and your patience paid off. She is a lucky girl to have landed in your life.
I have never tethered a dog either but I also had a...

She believes in bringing a puppy inside for training and socialization and when it is outside it is tethered near the stock when it is alone. Set the pup up for complete success. And like raising children, she does not go with...
As far as the dogs, make sure that they are people friendly and have been handled. So many are raised without human interaction and that is very hard with an adult dog. I had a barker...he barked at the sun, the moon, the stars, the flowers, the leaves, the flies...you get the picture. The three...
I have a walk behind Bobcat with a post hole digger attachment. I also have a post hole digger on my John Deere. Don't waste your time on a three point hitch attachment, the Bobcat with down pressure will dig a hole anywhere, I love that thing. And because I am incredibly spoiled and my motto...
I could never have goats if I didn't have my LGDs. Actually I would never go outside of my house at night if I didn't have my LGDs. I can't tell you how much they changed my life.
I can't really say why they need cobalt but most people I know put a cobalt block out for them. If a person mentions that the goat's milk has an off flavor it is often suggested to give them cobalt. I leave a block out for them and they do eat it.
I live in CA and we have no summer pasture. We also have selenium deficient soil and the copper isn't absorbed well due to our well water. I have no parasite problems at all, ever. But I constantly battle Selenium, zinc, and copper deficiencies. I have 50 goats, 32 of them in milk, and go...
My guess on the blue stuff would be cobalt.
For those of you that live near NE the absolute best minerals are from Wicks Livestock Nutrition. I'm in CA and I pay to have them shipped to me. My husband is bringing me home a pallet of them right now. He went to NE for minerals and to Iowa to...
Alondra is loving her new home. She is with 3 other LGDs and doing so good. She has also decided that chickens are ok and not to be chased, which is awesome. I miss her horribly but I couldn't ask for a better home. She gets spoiled and loved on regularly and gets to come in the house, sleep on...
I am alive. :) My hired is help is seasoning and packaging the cheese and it is nice to get a break from doing that. I have so many other projects and things that I enjoy, like gardening and my bees, and it was very difficult to find time to check on those things. Business is doing good and I...
No earthquakes felt in my neck of the woods this time. But like @ragdollcatlady I have been in some big ones and some small ones and they honestly don't even faze me. I was living in the Bay Area during the Loma Prieta quake and it rattled pretty good. At least if my house falls down I know...
I am alive and working my tail off, and thank you for asking. I have been doing three farmer's markers a week and my husband has been doing one more so a total of four. It keeps me busy not just going to markets but also doing all the milking and making cheese and it is hard to make cheese when...
Alondra has found a great home. She won't be going for a few weeks as I will be getting her spayed first. She will be joining one of my pups from Mia so this is not an unknown which makes me a ton more comfortable letting her go. I love her to bits but swapping her and Mia with house time is...
@ragdollcatlady Thank you. I will take all the prayers that I can get. The kids are gone...all but the last 4 that aren't weaned as of yet. I have bought a few new ones this year and I have new motto..."keep the best and cull the rest". I am trying to improve milk production so I can get the...
I know that you don't want an LGD but they do keep hawks away. When my dogs and chickens lived together I never lost a chicken to a hawk. The dogs would watch the sky and bark and chase any that even tried to get close to the birds. Now that the chickens and dogs don't share a field a lose...
Toltrazuril seems to work sometimes and not others but it works better for prevention than for treatment. If you don't want to use Corid get some DiMethox 40% injectable and give it orally. It is a long dose...10 days to stop the life cycle but only 5 days for prevention. I would treat the one...
The yellow sticky diarrhea is normal stools for a newborn lamb/goat; it will go away in a few days. They also don't nurse for long, literally a few seconds sometimes, but they nurse frequently.
