    Question about Wethers

Now I am worried! So far he hasn't tried to mount the doe but do I need to separate them? Or does it look like he's been wethered?

    Question about Wethers

I am not sure where she had him penned. He was already caught and put in a crate when we got him.

    Question about Wethers

On the 24th of this month he'll be 5 months old. He was wethered with burdizzio on May 25th. That's what is on the paperwork that the seller gave me. I am new to goats so I am clueless to what that type of wethering is.

    Question about Wethers

I bought a Nigerian Dwarf wether to keep with my half nubian/nigerian dwarf doe. I am slightly allergic to goats but it is the wether that is affecting my allergies worst ( my doe hardly affects me at all). My husband and I both think he has a very strong buck smell. So I am just curious, did...

I'm going to start with solids, brokens and otters. I'm going to wait a bit before I go into shaded.

    Orange Genetics

From what I've been reading on all the colors it looks like I'm going to just have to jump in and be a little hands on about it and not be so nervous. Of course I'm going to keep on reading and learning as much as I can. :caf

    Orange Genetics

Thanks @DutchBunny03! I have been reading up on it and it sounds like it is challenging but not something too hard to work with.

    Orange Genetics

I am a newbie at rabbit genetics and am working on buying pedigreed netherland dwarfs. I have found some orange NDs but was wondering if that is a more complicated color to work with than say something like selfs or brokens? :idunno

I am definitely going to do my best to make sure that that kind of thing doesn't happen again!

Expecting a litter of Netherland Dwarfs!

It was rough! And I felt so stupid for not thinking about the dog. Lesson learned though. The first time the doe kindled she had 5 kits. I thought that was a lot for a netherland dwarf.

Expecting a litter of Netherland Dwarfs!

She had 3 kits when I left to eat out with some family that had come in to town and when I got back our dog had dug a hole to her burrow and got the kits. When I checked on her she had one kit stuck with only it's little feet sticking out. I helped her get it halfway out and then she stopped...

    Hi from Tn!

Definitely! Those are all dwarf breeds so they will not be eaten! Lol I am probably going to get New Zealand Whites since they are not going to be as easy for me to be attached to. :)

    Hi from Tn!

Thank you @DutchBunny03 ! Unfortunately I bought my Nds before I found out that there is such a thing as pedigreed rabbits. I am getting a pedigreed buck soon and am slowly going to build up my pedigreed herd so my husband won't panic too bad! Lol I love my blue otter buck. Which is why I am...

    Hi from Tn!

I'd be happy to oblige! The blue otter is my netherland dwarf buck. The black otter is my netherland dwarf doe. And the black holland lop is my daughter's personal pet. I am not planning on breeding Hollands. Yet. ;)
