If you are worried about it, just gradually add more water and less milk each day until it is all water.
I usually just leave water out and when I see them drinking it, I know it is time.
My vet gave my kid tribrissen, which I've read treats Coccidia, about three weeks ago. He has gotten better, but I have noticed my three other kids butts are dirty and I've noticed a lot of loose poop in the yard. Maybe I should just put it in the drinking water.
I am need to treat my kids for Coccidiosis. I got Corid 20% Soluble Powder Coccidiostat. At what ratio do I mix the powder with water? I want to use a syringe to put the mixture directly into their mouth or use a bottle. I don't want to let it set out in their drinking water. What it says, 4...
I have a doe I took off the mom about a month ago. Here's almost the question in reverse. In nine months when I put her back with the herd, will she recognize her?
How much do your vets charge? I'd take a huge loss if I took a fecal sample to the vet as often as some people say to do. My vet charged $24 for a fecal sample. I'm going to have to learn how to do it myself. I took a kid to the vet a couple of weeks ago. I got him tubed, some electrolytes, and...
I had two FF have premature babies, one had a single doe (March 9) and the other twin bucks (March 25), all dead. Both girls are right around 13 months old. My FF that went in December, January, and February had no problems, but they were all older, about 2 years old. Full term, healthy kids...
I want to know what you were feeding them before breeding and during the month the buck was with them. Did you do anything differently than you had done in the past before and during breeding?
What do you do to keep nannies from head butting other nannies in the belly when you put out feed? I had one have an abortion a couple weeks ago, and probably because of this. I could put out more troughs for feed, but I have a couple that just walk back and forth between troughs.
His stool is starting to firm up. I'm going to keep him in the crate again tonight so I can tell for sure. I got some Manna Pro milk replacer tonight. I gave him his PM bottle with 6 oz water and 2 oz milk. He is acting much better. I kind of worried about him this afternoon. I spent 5 hours...
Parasites and dehydration, plus an upset stomach. I'm guessing the people I got him from tried to wean him before he was ready. From his horn growth I would say he is a month old. He's not eating much grain, but he's sticking his nose in it. I'm not going to give him milk anymore. I'm going to...
He's a boer. The vet tubed him this morning and gave him 10 oz of electrolytes. I have some medicine for him, tribrissen. I've been giving him the electrolytes from the bottle and he has taken 6 oz twice today. He is acting a lot better, but not all the way there.
He made it through the night and seems to be more responsive. He was pretty lethargic last night and I didn't think there was any way he would make it. I kept him in the house last night to preserve some energy to keep him from shivering. He took about 4 oz of milk this morning. I was pretty...
I got a kid yesterday in a trade, doe for a buck. I got the bad end of the trade. The buck was suppose to be 7 weeks old, but it looks about 3-4 weeks old. I gave it a bottle last night (He's supposed to be weaned). It took a bottle this morning and this afternoon eagerly. Tonight he is not...
20kidsonhill,
I was hoping I'd here from you. Just one time of LA 200? I'm familiar with that. I gave it to calves frequently.
I'll get it in the morning and give her a shot.
BTW, the girl that kidded two weeks ago, her doe is doing great. She's small, but very active.
Are goats that much more sensitive than cows? I've had goats for a year, my whole life with cows. I'd go arm deep with a cow and never worry about infection. How much penicillin should I give her with one shot and how many consecutive days?
