Hello from north central OH! @norseofcourse we used to have Icelandic sheep and one would Jump the four foot tall fence! So we named her bunny. Anyways, welcome from OH!
The doe is actually the dark one I'm not very good with the color names so I don't really know but she looks more black to me. And yes I know the buck is a tort.
@Hens and Roos I have two French angoras one buck and one doe, that I will be breeding next spring so I'll probably keep one from that litter. My mom was really into spinning for a few years so she has drop spindles, so I will hopefully be learning how to spin that soon. These are my rabbits...
I think the guy I might get the hay from didn't get out early enough or something (in not very knowledgeable about hay.) so it's not very good quality and he hasn't planted alfalfa for a few years so there's not much alfalfa either.
Okay so I guess it all started on about beginning of August when my mom told me about angora rabbits (I didn't even know they existed until then.)
so I started researching them over the course of almost 4 months and I decided that's what I wanted to do.
but then I had to find housing for...
I don't know ( not really good with remembering names.) but we are in north central OH right outside of Lexington, near Mansfield. Also the man my dad works with makes "horse hay" so it's really mostly just Timothy. Thanks! @Latestarter
UPDATE: my dad just told me a guy he works with makes Timothy hay and probably has some for sale so hopefully I won't have to keep paying six bucks for a couple pounds of hay.
I would guess it's too late now to get anything else.
just Don't like spending spending six dollars a week on hay. I currently get it at tractor supply co.
Thanks! I actually plan on breeding for meat and fiber. My plan is if I have a kit that I think will be good for fiber, I'll breed that one to another kit that I think will be a good meat rabbit. I haven't researched genetics yet so I don't know how it'll work.
The top pic is the buck ( such a camera hog.) and the bottom pic is the doe. Thanks for the help! Devonviolet
P.S. Sorry for the sideways pics always forget to turn my phone!
