We are well past our cold snap now and everyone was fine. Their wool was only wet on the top not down to their skin and they somehow got themselves dry right before the temp tanked. They spend the whole cold 10 days walking around like any other day. (pigs, ducks, bunnies, and dogs were all...
Thanks for the advice. I'll go back out and see if it's all the way wet to the skin. So far no one has been shivering. They have shelter they used more last year. This year they only go in sometimes 🤷♀️ Our ducks make me laugh because they are the only ones completely undeterred by rain. :)
This winter has been rainier than usual and my flock has been wet for weeks. They used to take shelter in rain and now they just hang out getting wet. I am worried because our temps are about to drop for the next 5 days to high in 20's and lows in the teens. Should I bring them in and towel...
We have a 8 month old duck named Penny who has been wheezing for maybe 5 days. I have a call into the vet, but I'm wondering if anyone here has had a duck go through something like this. She is eating and playing normally. I tried to catch it on video but with all the background noise it was...
Family photo we took last month on our little homestead. We are new to farming and so far have Jacob sheep, Ancona ducks, and our latest addition kunekune piglets. With our trusted German Shepherd and Great Pyrenees we have a real black and white theme going on :)

I'm not sure if he is just getting bigger or having a bit of bloat. They have a dish of baking soda in their barn. He is eating and acting normally. Thank you for the help!
Thank you for the advice. I made sure they had hay before they went out to eat and put out the baking soda in a small dish. By the end of the day her poop was back to normal. She was squatting to pee! Right again!
Hi! I brought my three lambs home yesterday and since then have noticed one with a couple of symptoms I was hoping to address. One of our girls had her poop change from normal, to round and clumped together, to a greenish pile of mush over the last 24hrs. This evening I have seen her squatting...
