    Help me identify my rabbits?

Mixes like that around here would go for around $10 (if they sell)... not really a profit when you are buy hay and pellets to feed them until they sell.Plus the cages and added food for the doe... If you want to do it for the fun of it and can find some customers than thats great I just hope you...

newbie.. What breed would you recommend

I think it really depends on you. There are plenty of meat rabbit breeds that are really good. First thing you should check on what is available in your area. Second, do you want anything else from them? Are you planning on selling, showing or keeping any as pets? I find this list to be pretty...

I picked up my first pair of rabbits yesterday...

Calf Manna is great for nursing mom's especialy if she has a large litter. With that said we never gave ours any and she was just fine. She really really likes black oil sunflower seed and they are great for growing kits and nursing mothers,

    Confused rabbit - false pregnancy?

It could be a lot of things. If she is pregnant at 37 days you should be able to tell just by looking at her belly when she lays on her side. She could just be hormonal. When you bred her did the buck fall off multiple time? I know that for most breeds you should breed before one year, breeding...

    Yard Time plant question

From what I just read veronica persicv is a wild rabbit deterrent. Personally I would remove it, better safe than sorry.

    Is this good enough (pedigree)

So i have a almost 7 weeks old (born march 12) black silver fox doe. We bought what we though was 2 does, turned out one was a buck. They where last together around end of January (not sure of the actual date). But our doe ruby had an accidental "meeting" with our blue silver fox on Feb. 6th...

    Six weeks out of sync

Bunny lady has great advice :] When breeding close together just watch her for signs of stress. From my research some will continue to breed and take care of the kits but will wear them selves down. Causing the doe to have smaller litters and a shorter breeding span (and life). If she seems...

Sick 9 mo old Flemish giant

Has see been drinking water? If it a water bottle make sure it is working properly rabbits won't eat if they can't drink. Also check her teeth, this can also cause rabbits to stop eating. Are your other rabbits acting okay?

*update video pg 7* Newfreewill Rabbit Adventure

Thought i should do a update :] Ruby is doing great. She is getting a little chunky looking so when we wean the kit she will be going on a diet. We are hoping to breed her right after we wean the kit. Ruby's kit is a little piggy just like its momma. Every time I go into the garage it hits the...

How old do you wean the your kits? (Poll)

Thank you for alll the responses. We breed for meat and to sell. She seems to be tolerating it oky, no aggression that I have seen. The kit is eating pellets, hay and drinking from the water bottle. We are probably going to wait a couple more weeks, we are just breeding enough meat for us and...

How old do you wean the your kits? (Poll)

At what age do you wean your kits? Are there certain things that would make you do it sooner or later? Well ruby's single kit is now 4 weeks old. Its doing great. It still trys to nurse on ruby but when I'm out there ruby runs away from it every time. So after rereading when I should wean the...

    Wrinkly kits

From most of what I have read/seen in other posts if the mother is already wary of you then its best to leave her alone and not try to force feed. I agree with dutch bunny that you should check her teats though. From my research its oky for the kits to eat anything (including greens) mom has...

    Rabbits losing weight?

Our doe is a pig and if we let her she would eat 2 cups of pellets our bucks on the other hand dont eat more than 3/4 a cup (we give them 1 cup a day because they are still growing). Pictures would be helpful. You should to be able to easily feel the spine, ribs and back leg bones on a rabbit...

    Rabbits losing weight?

I would definitely deworm. Also how much are you feeding them? Are they drinking normally? Have you weighed them to see how much they actually lost?

LocoYokel's kindling thread (aka What the ???)

Yay!! I know some people use dryer lint or fluffed out cotton balls when the doe dosnt pull enough fur. Our doe pulled extra this time so I saved some in a zip lock just in case she dosnt pull enough next time. Not sure about adding another box though... maybe put some extra hay in the corner...
