*new question* Is this a common thing?

Next weekend we plan on picking up a blue silver fox (about 9 weeks old). When I was first talking to her about 8 weeks ago she sent this message "I have had snuffles in my barn and I am currently breeding only the rabbits that have shown a resistance to it. I would never sell a rabbit that was...

    Finding better hay.

My car has turned in to a storage unit... Not to happy about it but I doubt we will be moving the stuff out until this summer. 20 PVC pipes hanging out the passenger window while it was snowing going 55 mph was the last thing I tried to transport. I though for sure my window was going to break...

    Finding better hay.

Thank you all for the responses. Sounds like we will be looking at some farms! I've seen a few ads in the paper. We don't have a truck ATM so i will need to see if it can be delivered. The younger one, Onyx is such a butt about it, in the afternoon I try to give him and Topaz (the older one)...

lol its okay, the terminology gets confusing when they both eat hay and have the same names :P

    Finding better hay.

They are a little over 4 months and little over 5 months and are silver fox rabbits. We have had them for a little more than a month. The older buck has been super picky for awhile and I'm assuming he was fed alfalfa because it took him 3 days to decide to eat the timothy, we had it in a hay...

    Finding better hay.

So right now we have a large amount of Timothy hay we bought from farm and fleet. Both bucks refuse to eat any of the small pieces and it seems that more than half of it is to small to interest them. Should I expect this from all hay bought in a store? Would we have better luck buying from a...

well she is back in the box... maybe some more on the way? We gave her a few BOSS & a bit of oats on top of her pellets and she hasn't eaten them (very abnormal for her). If i have the right day then this would be 36?!?! I'm guessing the large DOA was stuck and preventing her from having the...

*update video pg 7* Newfreewill Rabbit Adventure

Welp Ruby is a mamma! She had one very large DOA about the length of my hand and at least one (possibly two) alive half the size of the other! She must have heard us talking again because this morning around 10am she was pulling tons and tons of hair, stomping her foot (i went over to see what...

    Indoor vs outdoor rabbitry

We have silver fox rabbits and so far we are very happy. All three are sweet hearts (very different personalities) and very easy to handle, including the two we have who did not get handled at all by the breeder we bough them from. We also have high hope for the future in involving selling and...

    Are Pine Cones Safe?

Just saw your post from my profile... We give them to our rabbits after reading they are okay ( they eat them till they are stubs) so unless goats have very different digestive system I would think they would be okay.

Thought I would update... Still nothing. Yesterday she was laying on her side and let my husband feel her belly and he said he felt one lump about 3-4 inches. I have not had a chance to feel her but she is looking very large and uncomfortable... If i have my dates and did math right it would be...

    Pedigree Question

I have no knowledge about being non-showable, and I've just gotten in to rabbits. All 3 of our rabbits had pedigrees ( meaning that I have the name, weight, and color/breed for 4 generations) and I did not pay extra for them to give me a printed piece of paper... Is it normal to pay extra? I...

    Rabbit Suddenly Losing Mothering Instinct?

I second the 3 strikes method. I also wonder if something scared her into sitting on the kits. Is there any change in her behavior in other areas? Is she following her normal kindling routines?

So i guess she heard my husband and I talking because this morning she decided to pull fur. Still no babies but I've read to many horror stories about removing the box early so she will get to keep it for one more night...
