I use a case stockmen normaly and I love that knife but some times I do stuff that
I want I knife that has a thumb stud and a pocket clip that also has a good edge as any one have a knife in mind thats like that
Thanks for the info because people use all sorts of hot feeds and supplements that make muscle
And make the pig look like a tank
And alot of the feeds are 20% or higher that what confused me because I never have fed any thing other then an 18% then 16% for finishing and I normally feed that with...
yeah I research feed as a hobby but what I wanted to know is about show feeds because their is many different %s of lysine and protein that make them grow into a better show pigs in just 6months instead of just meat pigs which I know how to feed
Not sure on how long its been on the market but what it does is gets all your sows on a set etrus cycle so you when you breed the sows your can mark on your calander exactly when the sows are do to farrow so you can have a more consent product when the pigs go to market
Yeah for dual purpose I would but my vote to ether raise layers and meat birds or a bird like a Delaware
That has meat and lays okay
And to doxiemoxie I am in the sandeigo county
yeah they are great layers but there really flighty in my opinion I prefer to raise red stars their quiet and are great layer of brown eggs which are the only ones my customers will buy
I will be for sure hatching some leghorns and I'm not sure exactly what the others will be but I for sure know there brown egg layers that should be good layers
The leghorns I know is because those are the only white egg layers I own
And yeah I would say I'm a little to far away form you but...
I will be haching out a batch of chicks soon and wantend to know if any was interested
There $2.00 a chick pick up local only and if there's any rule on pre orders please delete this thread and I well repost when their hatched
You know what I dont think I have ever put thought into a show pig being used for breeding but come to think of it people do sometimes buy them like my ffa chapter's sow was a show pig and just the other day my
AG. Teachers neighbor wanted us to breed a gilt he bought at auction
thanks for the tips so I normally look for a pig that has a deep loin and ham and a structure that looks solid but I normally forget and overlook the chest and straightness of the legs . I think I do okay picking pigs for meat but picking show pigs now that is a competitive game
Im not new to showing pigs but having other people help so I want to try and pick out a pigs that is going to look good to the judge is when the pigs are young what should I look for that I didnt look for last time
I use ivermec for a wormer but there is other wormers you can use and for coccidia I don't normally use anything for a prevention normally and for the apples I wouldn't let prince Julian have all the apples he wants because it might cause scours but in moderation its fine
once you get pigs you wont be happy with out them. but for advice I wouldn't feed any ration meant for market pigs or they well get large fast I don't want to give feed advice but I have always fed my pigs a sow ration or something similar if they were growing too fast. and don't forget to worm them
