It is now clear... the geese refuse to go into their coop.... Are they too fat to fit? Or do they despise shelter and love getting rained and snowed on? Unsure... the opening into the shelter LOOKS big enough for a goose. **I** fit (with stooping), but maybe if the opening isn't 4 feet...

Hello! and question about hair loss around my goat’s eyes and natural forage

Here is a FAMACHA card. Also... I am all for organic/natural. But I really think that many parasites need quality full bore chemicals. I think the best thing if you want to use few or no chemicals is to 1. Have individuals that are naturally parasite resistant. And 2. Help the animal...

Hello! and question about hair loss around my goat’s eyes and natural forage

Minerals: If your soil is deficient in minerals then all the plants that grow there will ALSO be deficient. You should be able to look up on the internet and see if your area is low in copper (and check for selenium at the same time). If you can't find it on the internet, then look up your...

Anyone knowledgeable about wells? Using well to water sheep.

So... I was curious, and tried to figure out what that bacteria is that you have. From what I can understand..the Coliform bacteria is a completely harmless bacteria that is easy to test for, and that commonly occurs in association with contamination by fecal matter of one kind or another...

Anyone knowledgeable about wells? Using well to water sheep.

Yep, x2 what @Mini Horses said. Our wells up here need to be treated with bleach. Bleach is great, it breaks down fast. Bleach also doesn't cost all that much, so I would pour at least 2 jugs down there in the evening. Come morning or afternoon, (or 2 days later... depending on when you...

Same here. Maybe just STOP building subdivisions on farm and ranch land. I think THAT would be the best for the environment. Get rid of the cows... and that land will turn into suburbs. SUCH a bad idea. And yes,in the Netherlands the cows are in a completely enclosed environment.

They would need secure night time housing. I don't have foxes, but in the day, they will square off with 1 or 2 dogs... more than that and the geese would lose. Or, a smart more predatory dog would probably just kill them all. So, guessing, you would have to be able to fence out the dingo...

@SageHill I am with Mini.... A few years back we got 2 Kunekunes. We do NOT have the pasture size you need, WITH a good fence. Which means that they rooted, worked hard to lift up fence with their noses and other such trouble. And we had to buy lots of feed for them. Also... SLOW...

They prefer lawn. I actually do not think that they will eat tall grasses. Mine stayed on my lawn all summer, no fence. They had no desire to leave the lawn, since around my house is the lawn, and then gravel parking and drive, and native brush/weeds. I do have a flower garden by my front...
