Cement floor, wood, or dirt in your barn?

I like the swimming pool paint idea! I have a small concrete pad outside the shed which was the worst mud/manure mix. It just ate any stone I put there. Even though it is small at about 16 square feet I do worry about slipping on it. Thanks for the advice!

Which is better - bottle feeding or once weaned for a friendly cow?

I am planning on using one for breeding once my girl is old enough. A little herd of 2 (1 boy and 1 girl) is what I am after. Once she has a heifer calf and is rebred than it'll be time to raise a new boy, and old boy will go in the freezer.

Which is better - bottle feeding or once weaned for a friendly cow?

I plan on putting one of the boys in the freezer either once she gets old enough or they start having issues with each other. Right now they are keeping each other company. As for milk we don't use much. Mostly half and half for coffee and butter. Getting some fresh would be wonderful. I...

Horse property used for cows and sheep?

Go with a mini cow and you'll do fine! Would add either more boards, woven wire, or electric though to strengthen the fence.

Which is better - bottle feeding or once weaned for a friendly cow?

First let me say thanks to all that respond to my question. Second, I am new to cattle and have 2 mini hereford x lowline yearling bulls that I got this fall. They are great even though I can't touch them. I have already put a deposit down for a heifer calf this spring and am wondering which...

An Angus milk cow? Why not?

Glad to know it can be done. I can't wait for my heifer calf this spring. Now my only question is when do I pick her up? Younger and bottle feed or when she is 3-4 months old and weaned? I am planning on putting her in a stall until we get to know each other and I can halter/groom/lead her...
