Checking-In On Herds - Post Here To Say Hello!

Thanks for reaching out, Nifty! Not much going on out here in the country life. Getting the garden ready for planting. I recently found out that the County passed an ordinance on chickens - I will have to read it closer, but I think I am now in non-compliance and am at risk of getting...

When I worked for the Wyoming DOT, I actually contacted Google Earth to try to get "roads" removed from landowners pastures. Sure, they were graveled, but they were private roads owned and maintained by the Gas/Mining companies for their vehicles to use. Not safe to have tourists on the same...

Picture Of The Week (POW) Information & Submissions

@secuono Nice picture! I love the colors (golden grass, blue sky, varius animal colors) and I like the contrast of shadows vs. sunshine on the grasses. And the clarity/sharp focus of the pasture grasses. Wow.

I am hosting Thanksgiving this year. I haven't told DH yet. oops, lol I don't know why he gets so tense about it. I like to cook, and most everything turns out good. My family are not raving lunatics or horrible people. They sit around and visit, nephews sit in the family room and watch TV.

We got our LS tractor as a package deal. Tractor, front end loader, undermount mower deck and backhoe all in a package deal. And we added on a front mount snowblower attachment. DH added a light bar package this spring to help with snow-blowing before sunrise and after sunset - which is when...

We have a Kubota tractor that has a cab and a little LS Tractor. Love them both. The Kubota is pretty expensive to have repaired - getting to be like a John Deere, I think you pay more just because of the color.

When we moved out to Wyoming we signed up for DirectTV. After the "sigh-on" deals ended and they upped our bill by $100, I called to cancel. She wanted to know why and I said because we don't watch it enough to make the cost of it acceptable. Besides, I live in Wyoming and I can't get any...

When we bought our place, it had 40 acres, but the seller was willing to split the property. We put in an offer for the buildings and 25 acres, with an option to buy the remaining land when our place in Wyoming sold. Another buyer offered to buy the buildings and 5 acres. Seller chose our...

Those pictures brought back memories of remodeling our manufactured home. So happy to get rid of those trim strips and mud the seams to make it look like a real house. DH learned a lot in that place. That is where I first saw orange peel texture and discovered that I did like textured walls, lol.

Ridgetop - our place and how we muddle along

Making a doll house just to rearrange the furniture is what I would do. Barbie would never even move into her house. My sister had barbies and played with them a lot, but my Barbies were only used for manikins to create clothing and modeling said clothes before my cousin had to have it for her...

My DH always tells me that when I am mudding joints, to make sure it is really thin coats. There is less to sand off that way, lol!

Here in Wisconsin, you do not have to have No Trespassing Signs up for someone to be arrested for trespassing. But we have them up anyway.

When does hair stop growing? Is this really a thing? Does that include facial hair? Maybe I still have something in life to look forward to.

Those Hello Dolly Bars sound wonderful! I wonder if those are the bars that show up at the church socials that I love so much. I'm too quiet/shy to ask who made them or what they were so I never got a recipe, but I love them!! Always grab a couple for myself. DH won't eat anything with...

    Lol yet another fencing thread

DH sets all of our wooden corner posts in concrete. He is not a woodworker per se, but he is an engineer. He uses a "H" brace system with and "x" of wire for the corners and gate posts.
