    Ideas for Storm Prep

Baymule thank heavens for the volunteer firefighters. VFDs are so important - we appreciate them around here so much ourselves. You were ready to go, but I know it must have been nerve-wracking for you. I am so glad that it got taken care of before it came to that

    Ideas for Storm Prep

@Baymule thank YOU for thinking of us and staying in touch and all the ideas. @Mini Horses so far I think central AL alone has 13 confirmed tornado tracks. There were so many. We are extremely, EXTREMELY grateful that things were okay here. Thank you for all of the ideas that helped give us...

    Ideas for Storm Prep

@Baymule I sure will thank you. @murphysranch So far still clear but windy our way. Radar shows rain about 7 and them around 9 is when we have hours of red coming at us. We are inside the area they predict the worse part to be at so we have done all we can to prep. We will be up all night...

    Ideas for Storm Prep

So here is the game plan update: - Will look for paint, have a marker and alcohol to put number in the ears, found some old plastic yogurt container lids and I have cut them, hole punched, and sharpie wrote our number on them to attach to collar as temp tags. I can't recall if I said this but I...

Okay the plastic bottle for tags I will dig something up. I may also write in the ear and clean it out afterwards. Just a bit worried as we haven't had this kind of threat in years and doing what we can to prepare. Thanks for any help folks thank you Baymule

    Ideas for Storm Prep

@Baymule thank you for these I wondered if marker or paint was safe I was thinking of these any experience using them? I could do both. I would use the ziploc bag but our older male goat likes biting things off of others

    Ideas for Storm Prep

Hi all sorry to not know exactly where to put this. Tomorrow we are expecting horrible weather and I am trying my best to prep the goats as I can. My main concern is if we get tornado and the goats go missing or get out of the barn, I know I cannot stop predatory issues, but I need a way to try...

HomesteaderWife - Tales from Wolf Branch [05/10/2023 - The New Fella!]

I realized today I have not touched base on BYH in quite some time. So here are the updates on things as of late: Yusuke was fixed along with his daddy, so the family is all together now. He really seemed to know his cattle dog friend had passed, but shortly before losing her we adopted in an...

Sorry I have not posted photos or videos in a bit of the little goat. His best friend, our cattle dog who helped to raise him, passed away June 27th. She has been gone for nearly two weeks, and he still comes up to the door when he is out and looks around for her if he comes inside. She helped...

Here is our boy Yusuke the goat kid, turning 7 weeks old this Friday! I just want to share his photo and let everyone know he is doing great. I was a nervous wreck with this one - my first ever bottle baby of any species. He's grown into a handsome little guy - that's a brown teardrop marking...

We are at nearly two weeks now with our little goat kid, Yusuke. He's been doing well! Here is a goofy video of him running and doing binkies and flipping his long ears in slow motion

Thank you so very much! I am so excited that I saw it when I logged on! (May I mention this is a little goat kid however? 😁 He is cute as a little lamb but he's just a kid hehe)

Love that comment and yes his little nose is so precious. The heeler is definitely a great dog, they enjoy walks together and she jus treats him like a walking companion without getting excited or any kind of annoyed- just calm to him.
