I’m going to guess that orange and purple bands are your cockerels. Based on leg size. Purple is the only one I can see any appreciable amount of comb. I wouldn’t be surprised if you ended up with all girls, but of course it’s too early to make any real predictions.
Edit: and actually I looked...
I’ve had lots of speckled Sussex chicks (large fowl) and none of mine have ever been yellow. I wonder if it’s a bantam thing.
As far as TSC calling them “chipmunks”, they only get bantams in straight run assorted. They have no way of knowing what the breeds are. That’s how Hoover’s sends them.
Not boring to me! I had (only 🤣) 5 babies who are all 27 and older now and off on their own lives. I sure do miss those days when they were here with me. It went by too fast.
#5 looks like it has a really tiny air cell. Usually the air cell gets larger. I would venture to guess that the contents of that egg are possibly swelling? If it were me, I would either throw that one way out into the woods/uninhabited area and see if it explodes when it hits the ground or else...
You have eco-turf!
Give the chicks an extra day or two, since they got cooled off that day your sitter put them in the house. They need to make up for the lost time. :fl
You should let MMM know that their Campine chicks from the two different locations are vastly different. If they are drop shipping or buying from two different breeders they might not be aware that one of them is producing an inferior product. I wonder how much of this can be attributed to the...
That’s what I was going to say! To avoid confusion, there should be periods in the Los Angeles abbreviation. (L.A.) But no one’s going to do that. Too hard to type.
Well I’m late to the party, but I agree with @Mini Horses and @frustratedearthmother that the OP never asked about bovine pregnancy tests in the first post. So when I got to page two and they mentioned bovine for the first time, I thought they just misspoke and meant ovine. It didn’t surprise...
Our middle daughter did that her first two summers out of high school. DH works for Lilly and has lots of co workers in other countries who he has gotten to know pretty well over the years. One of them from Madrid mentioned looking for an English speaking au pair and DH suggested DD. They loved...
That’s funny, because I looked there at the time I posted, and Amazon had reasonable prices until I clicked on size 11, and then it changed to $75! 😱
Edit: oh, I see that that is a different style.
