Hello, we live in E TX, and are about to breed our two Nubian does for their, and our first time. We are taking them to a local stud, where they will stay until they come into heat and are bred(we’ve tried watching for their cycles but haven’t had much luck, so we did look into cyders, but...
I have a question about mules, and would love to hear peoples experiences with them.
What is the likelihood of us finding a donkey or mule that will not kill our pet dogs, will not kill kids and strangers, will kill predators, will be kind to all sorts of equine, and will be able to be...
Hey there, so we were digging in the dirt in the animal pen a couple days ago when we noticed small(about 1/2 inch) reddish colored worms in the ground...like literally wherever we dug within the pen there were these worms in the ground. There are goats(only been here 2 days, worms were present...
Hello, my 13 yr old daughter is looking to get into showing goats. We have experience with raising goats, but no clue about showing and breeding.
She has 2 options which I will explain here in a minute, but let me explain her goals first. She is wanting a lot of milk, and would show if she gets...
We will upload pictures when we get some. I am always going outside to work and never remember to take the phone with me.
We have a question for any LGD owners. Do you need to brush or bathe them? When we pet her she feels so dirty and gross especially underneath her thick fur.
We would love any advice you have about female LGDs. We have an 8 month old Great Pyrenee/Anatolian Shepherd cross, she guards our flock of chickens, and does so wonderfully so far. We are trying to decide if we should spay her? Not spay her? Breed her? What will make and keep her the Best LGD...
Update::: We did end up getting an LGD in November 2019. SHE WAS A GOOD CHOICE! We dreaded the 2 years of trainin, weren’t comfortable getting an adult LGD, were scared of the loses we might suffer from one, but it didn’t go that way. She accidentally killed 1 chicken(yes it was our favorite...

Update::: Sheera is doing amazing and we have lost a big 0 chickens from predators since we’ve had her, she Counts them every night, she checks on them, she is sad for one that has a poopy butt, and she knows when we get new chickens(she doesn’t like newcomers much, but eventually excepts them)...

Our LGD puppy is in or garden, which has a 6 ft chainlink fence around it, and nothing growing in it, and it has a nice size shed in it for Sheera(the lgd). The chickens pen runs all the way around the garden, and the have their barn too...we let Sheera out to mingle with the chickens while we...
Thank you all so much for your replies and opinions. She says she appreciates all of y’alls time taken to respond to her questions. She is asking now, if anybody here does have any goats for profit? If so, what do they do with them?
Hey everyone! We weren’t sure which forum to post this in, so we just put it here. My daughter is wanting to get Nubian goats, but isn’t sure if they will be profitable. She really just loves goats(she used to rescue Nubians kids), but she is so busy, and is wanting to choose hobbies that are...
Thank you everybody for the opinions. I feel like there is half the LGD owners who suggest keeping the pup with the chickens from the beginning, and the other half say, to keep them separate, and not give them the opportunity to hurt the chickens.
Anyways, we will update everyone in a couple...
