What about if baby is still nursing during the day? (mom & baby are separated at night) And baby is built like a bulldog, she's going to be bigger than mama no doubt. But I'm learning here so I didnt know if it was inappropriate for the baby to be in with adults in addition to mama.

We now have a 4yr old doe and all of her babies in the past have been removed as bottle babies (not because of problems, but because that's how they did all the kids at the farm where we got her). We'd like for her to raise her kids if possible. What are the chances that she will if she's gone...
So let's assume you're past quarantining, everyone is healthy, etc. It's now time to introduce some goats.
Here's what you have goat-wise:
A small LaMancha yearling doe (weighs ~70 lbs) and her 6 wk old doeling (weighs ~25 lbs). She came from a herd of yearlings but for the last 6 weeks has...
We recently found lice on our doe who is nursing one 6 week old kid. We dusted her & baby with DE a few days ago and it was recommended that we also dust her with a flea/tick powder for cats. The only thing I could find at the store was Hartz UltraGuard flea & tick cat powder.
Here's the EPA...
I just looked and what I have is not Sevin dust, it's Hi-Yield Garden, Pet & Livestock Dust.
Active ingredient says permethrin 0.25%
Directions are given for plants, cats, dogs, horses, cattle and poultry but no mention of goats

I just found that our doe has lice. We hadnt seen any signs and then all the sudden today she is covered in dandruff (that wasnt there yesterday) so we took a better look. Yep, I can see lice.
I have sevin dust that we used to treat some of our chickens a while back for poultry mites. I've...
We've been using textured sweet feed for our goats and have had no problem on it. But everyone has their own opinion on pellets vs sweet feed... in the goat world and in the horse world. That's why I was asking in general for SS brand goat feed. However the tag I have pictured is for pelleted...
They probably weigh 40-50 lbs. We cant get alfalfa in this area without getting it trucked in so it is expensive. Lespedeza is a great alternative and it is local.
We have a neighbor that grows it, we get it for $7/bale. We've been feeding it to our horses for years. Awesome stuff. In ruminants studies have been showing that it acts as a natural dewormer too.
Does anyone here use Southern States brand goat feed? If so, how well does it work with your goats?
They have both a 15% meat goat feed and a general 17% goat feed (the 17% comes in pelleted or sweet feed). We have dairy goats but I'm interested in what everyone thinks of it in general.
I read online yesterday about people using cheap cloth diapers (new, unused obviously) as cheesecloth when making cheese and some people swore that not only is it cheaper, but works better than real cheesecloth you buy from cheese making suppliers, they are easier to clean and last longer...
We've been following the Fias Co Farms with our mama LaMancha and her doeling (she only had one). We started separating them at night when baby turned 2 weeks and that is going well. We've been leaving a handful of grain in the stall with baby (along with water, a little hay, etc) every night...
We have a yearling doe who came from a small herd that wasn't handled very much. She is becoming friendly fast. In the 3 weeks we've had her she has done a complete 180 and now we can pretty much do anything we've needed with her (which so far has been a crash course in milking since she kidded...
