Tell me about your farm workhorses...ATVs, 4 wheelers, tractors, side by sides, etc.

It’s a wonderful piece. It gets used for wagon rides for the kids more then work though. I love old stuff. The only thing about new stuff I like more are the parking breaks haha 😂. But just like my old truck it just sits in gear.

This is my first and only tractor I’ve had. 1955 f650. It was redone by the previous owner. I couldn’t resist. It came with everything-but 4x4. Hard to get this thing stuck anywhere but I am selling it and getting a side by side/utv after that. Some of my land is hilly and wet. Beautiful tractor...

    Goats will be goats

Me too. It definitely wasn’t built with the intention of goats to be on it 😁

    Goats will be goats

Heaven forbid I went to put everyone away 20 minutes behind schedule and the wind blew the goat stall door closed. At home in the chicken coop on top of the injured hen pen🙄😂. Hill billy and paaul are quite the entertainment out of my small herd.

    Pig fence recommendations

I got lucky with having chain link fence in my pig area. Mine are potbelly’s with strong snouts and can get out anywhere. I staked every foot at the bottom with 2” stakes and it has held great. I can’t do hot wires with my little kids or I would. I have used pallets for fencing and had good luck...

    Alfalfa

Alfalfa or no alfalfa for sheep and goats. Getting mixed opinions so far. Part of my farm got flooded out and destroyed the grass last year so supplementing a bit more this year while I build it back up.

    Random

just a few of my animals. Most of my friends are tired of my farming and talking about animals all the time and always looking up and reading what’s new and what to do better. So I figured I’d share some on here. There are a lot of small farms where I live and it’s nice to talk with them, tip...

    Lost lambs

Thank you. I read up on trying to have a mom adopt a lamb and it’s pretty crazy what was suggested and the work put into it is rarely beneficial in the end.

    Newe herder

Hey there. I have ducks and chickens besides my sheep and goats. I’ve had them for quite some time and had goats before all way from bottle babies but the male went crazy and attacked my dogs surprising enough-so We’ve started new. Always have loved animals and caring for them. Last few years I...

    Lost lambs

Hey there, I’ve read a few posts on here about a ewe birthing lambs that didn’t survive. I unfortunately just had this happen with my girl last twins. She’s up and moving but of course sad and depressed looking. Never had to do this so I’ve been thinking-is it a good idea to find a bottle lamb...
