    Thin Goat

I think his poop was both colors. I think it started black then changed to tanish/mustard colored. I have Corid I can give. Should I dose him separately or give it to all of them? How much should they be given? Should I add it to their water like I would a chicken? He is a bit pale in his eye...

    Thin Goat

I had a fecal done a short time ago when he was sick (had the runs really bad) and they checked for worms and said they found none. I imagine they checked for all kinds?? I got him when he was just a few days old. He looked pretty good. Its been since he got the runs that he's been this thin. I...

    Thin Goat

I have a young male (intact) Nigerian dwarf goat born 11/30/2010 that is thin. All of my other goats seem healthy (all vax'd, cd&t/Pasturella/Pinkeye and wormed because I don't know their history). This boy was bottle fed. Along his spine is very boney. I can easily grab around and under the...

    Thin Kid

I have a buck kid born Nov 30th (Nigerian). He's recently been under the weather and had the runs pretty bad. I do think it was the grain causing him to bloat and be sick. He hasn't always been thin, but he looks pretty thin. What can I do to help him achieve a healthier weight?

    vax'ing

I have r a few vax I'm going to give the goats. Should I spead them out over a few days or would it be okay to give them all at once. (Pinkeye, CD+T and Pasteurella each in a separate vial) They all seem very healthy right now and I'm eager to get this stuff In them before *something* goes...

    Applicator gun

I'm putting together a Jeffers order for non vaccines today. Did the vax order yesterday. I'm looking at 2 suppliments that come in 300ml tubes and notes state an applicator gun is needed. The applicator gun looks like a $15 caulk gun I can dig out of hubbys tool shed. Are these tubes the same...

A few Vaccine Questions and a few basic Q's

That was my thinking. I don't know if each one would drink it. With my chickens, if I have a sick one I make them do what I want them to do. With a drench, is it something done forcefully? Or will they just take it? Do I need special equipment? This little buck will take about and oz from a...

A few Vaccine Questions and a few basic Q's

What else should I have on hand. Id like to get it if I can so I won't need to pay shipping charges again. So far, I haven't had the best luck with them. We've had a lot of sickness. When I open a vax bottle. Some say repeat in x amount of days. Will the liquid in the vial hold over that...

    Help again *sigh*

The didn't find worm or coccida. They have a salt block and have been licking it. I've pepto'd him. This morning when I was out there with him I went to move him and he belched like nothing I have ever heard before. His stomach isn't so fat (I pulled all the hay and grain out last night) and...

    Help again *sigh*

He's a Nigerian. I've had him since early December. He was born Nov 30th. I bottle fed him. He's been weaned for about 3 weeks. They eat hay and grain (the kind with syrup on it). There are 4 goats (mama in milk with baby, 9 month old doe, and this buck kid). We lost a buck bout a week ago...

    Help again *sigh*

Its been a week or so since Buck died. My other buck kid is 9-11 weeks. He has a case of the runs. His legs and feet are dirty. I think his belly looks fat. I think he feels thin and boney. The guy I got them from said its caused by too much grain. What do I do? Does this sound right?

We lost a kid this morning. Need Help

I picked thru all of his hair looking for any signs that might have given me a clue but didn't see any red, bruised or discolorations. We do have some very nasty snakes and spiders here. We've had a big problem with scorpions over the last 6 months, especially when the feild equipment has been...

We lost a kid this morning. Need Help

I would like to thank you for the suggestion of "Choking". We take water into the pen in jugs so the pen isnt wetted. Its easier to pour the water than carry a full water pan. I'm almost certain Buck ate one of the caps to the water jug. There is a missing cap. I leave the jugs in the coops so...

We lost a kid this morning. Need Help

Everyone gas been peeing and pooping normally. The coop is immaculate. I rake it clean atleast 2 or 3 times a week. I get embarrassed if its not clean and someone sees it. I keep them on a dirt floor under a covered carport and I have blankets that I lower at night for them to help keep them...

Yesterday "Buck", my 9 year old daughters goat was fine. I saw nothing that concerned me. He was jumping and playing. When I opened the curtin this morning he was on his side. He was already dead and had been for probably a few hours. I examined him and saw no parasites (I'm sure anything...
