How are the ants getting in the cage? If it has legs you can put the legs in tuna cans (or similar ) with water, ants wont swim. If you have hanging cages you can smear vaseline in their trail (make it thick ) and that provides a barrier they wont cross.
She's a cutie :). You look right at home on her too. It's nice that your small enough to ride her so you can do a little schooling if she needs it. I'll bet your daughter loves her!
Use a weight tape, you can get one from a feed or tack shop. You measure around their girth area, and the increments on the tape will tell you the weight.
I haven't had goats since I was a kid but my best friend and I used to walk all over the place, into town, through the park... she with her Great Dane and me with my big ol' Nubian wether. He heeled as well as any dog (minus the automatic sit ).

Pigs will do a fantastic job of rototilling your garden in the fall, but I'm a little skeptical of that happening in the winter, at least, where I live the ground is like iron come January, and if you can even find it, a pick will just bounce off it.
