Nope I haven't picked him out yet AP :( I'm going Monday after work to check on them and I'm hoping I get to handle them. There are solid white one and ones with big brown spots (Badger?) and the owner said the colorful ones were the more popular, but I'm really leaning towards a white one...

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. There just isn't enough time in the day. We did ok at the show. Not as well as I hoped, but good. Several people came by our pens and said we had nice looking goats. Fudge has mastitis. I've treated with Today and PenG. I will now wait and send a milk...

    How long to use Today?

box says 'maximum 2 treatments' but I read on one of the forums where someone said use 3-5 days. How long should I use it (I gave one treatment last night and 1 this morning because box says 12 hours between treatments) and when should I notice a difference?

ragdoll, I am going to give her until this Friday before I make a trip to the vet's office. Maybe I'll come home and viola she will have birthed out a perfect buck :) (I'm actually wanting a buck this time). One of the things I've noticed is she has lost some weight since she's come to my...

    miscarriage - need advice/pros v cons

Zoey was due last Thursday (June 27th). The former owner and I met at a show to exchange goats. She was approx. 4 months along at that time and HUGE, she was also quite a bit overweight. Her udder was filling out nicely. We brought her home and I'm positive the baby has died. There is no...

    gonna take fecals to vet-update

Fecals are $18.50 each at my local vet. I took fecals from Masey, Daisi, and Emma, all of whom I felt needed worming (everyone got wormed this weekend because after a better look at their eyelids, I felt everyone needed it - I felt they were a 2 on the Famacha scale). Results: Oesophagoslomun...

    gonna take fecals to vet-update

in the morning. Stupid question - do I need to taked fecals from all girls that need to be wormed (I use the FEMACHA method) or is it ok to take from just 2 or 3 (I've only got 5 does & 3 doelings but not all need to be wormed)? I treated with Cydectin less than a month ago & copper bolus 2...

Vickir73 & The Chunky Dunk!! - pics of first show

I've been happy with the copper; however, I think this last round (1) either didn't get enough in them or (2) I don't believe it treats roundworms, so . . . I treated Daisy with Cydetin and probios and she's back to her old self. Checked everyone's eyelids this weekend and a few need worming...

I received my seller's license for poultry a couple of months ago, I didn't know you had to get one for meat. Is this strictly for processed meat? Or are you referring to a special license to sell a meat goat? Where do you get all this time? I swear, I don't have enough time during the...

Vickir73 & The Chunky Dunk!! - pics of first show

I've been spraying Vetrimycin spray on her twice a day and it seems to be healed over and the scab is starting to flake off in spots. I also just received some Vetrimycin hot spot and in the next day or two I'll probably go head and take the rest of the scab off and start applying the Hot Spot...
